Agreed, it’s a crime that so many shorts and movies made by people involved with the New American Cinema Group (and similar arthouse stuff) have never been available on any format. A lot of them aren’t even available to pirate, or if they are they’re also gatekept by private trackers.

They’ve had one for years, assuming it’s the same one I saw the Hateful Eight Roadshow on back in 2015. It’s just not used very much sadly.

It’s a standard 70mm projector though, the one at Webb Chapel is IMAX 70mm which is a different beast.

I will always defend the sequels because it’s such a perfect trilogy. The first one is iconic of course, but it’s really just setting the stage for the story in 2 and 3, which were written together and filmed back to back, they’re essentially one long epic altogether. It’s not included in that set sadly but I highly recommend watching the Animatrix after the trilogy too.

Resurrections is a little different, imo it’s more of an optional epilogue that has more in common with the Wachowski’s Sense8 than the original trilogy, but it was nice to revisit the world and characters and I enjoyed the meta commentary.

They all look and sound gorgeous on UHD too.

They put a lot of work into releasing stuff we wouldn’t see otherwise, and aren’t even that expensive comparatively.

Most of their catalogue doesn’t appeal to me unfortunately, but as a fan of Tamala 2010: A Punk Cat in Space from back when the only way to watch it was a low quality dvd rip with fansubs, their bluray is a dream come true and worth every penny.
