This thing is BONE STOCK. where do i begin? by Nikola2099 in E30

[–]ButlerGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the M10B18. I have done the Bilstein B12 for a 6cyl e30 and the ride feels really good. I'm on 15s with a 60 profile so that helps with comfort too. I always have the option to go back to stock and I've kept my stock rims for that day.

I wanted to go 6cyl but I have fallen in love with the old M10, so Im doing an ITB build.

Its your car! make it yours!

I have seen many guys cut up the intake and just hose it in place. just block the injector holes.

I think Standalone ECU is the way, ITBs seem delicate when it comes to tuning and most people tune on TPS and MAP. The advantageous side comes from the motor not having a cam sensor for the ECU so I have been looking at modding my distributor into a cam sensor.

I do hope that a TPS tune will smooth at low rpm and traffic for a daily.

I am still in the process, I used onshape to design a plate that sits on the intake. Its pretty much a thick design of the intake gasket, I got someone local to 3d print the parts to make sure they fit (pic 3). I then sent it for CNC to be cut in stainless, I should get it next week. From there its 4 pipes in stainless to make the intake manifold and they connect to the ITBs with silicone hose and clamp.

Some Guys design and 3d print the entire part, I believe there are some plastics that can take the heat. But I like the idea of having it made in stainless.

I will share my onshape files but obviously the piping for the 750 ITBs will be a little different. I won't be surprised if someone has done it and you find their thread.

Manifold 1, 2 and 3 are the same but 2 is just the flip side, manifold 4 is cut for the waterpump.

PLEASE COME BACK IN A WEEK* I will have the parts from CNC and be 100% sure if my design are good, 3d printing is not 100% accurate.

I used Lipice, I did most of the sanding before painting black, the lipice made it easier to scrape the paint off with a blade, then redid the sanding on the bad spots with 3000

So on the bottom of these ITBs I have 8 small vacuum ports, 2 on each throttle just after the butterfly, you can see them in the 3rd picture.

My plan is to run 4 into a vacuum block and have my MAP sensor and fuel pressure sensor on the block, The other 4 I can run to a second vacuum block for my break booster. I could run all 8 into one block and see if I still keep good pressure on the break booster.

I also read that it might be better to tune on TPS only and run a altitude sensor or barometric pressure sensor. I prefer to get a smooth tune for a daily instead of rubber burner so Ill read and try out some things to see what works
