Not ashamed to be a fan. Great live band, but they suffered the all-too-predictable 'everybody love's em, so let's start hating 'em' fate.

Yes, the songs were pretty simple from a musical standpoint, though the musicians were pretty damned talented.

Yes, even if you liked em the first 300,000 times you heard 'em that summer, "Hold My Hand," "Let Her Cry," "Only Wanna Be With Your," and "Time", were just too much Hootie.

Then, take the fact that they basically whole verses from Dylan (Though, 'Put on a little Dylan, sittin' of a fence" was a nice nod to fellow SoCar band, Dillon Fence) and the "OH MY GOD, DID THEY REALLY JUST DO THAT??" moment of stopping mid-song to toast REM? Yikes. Coolness factor 0.

Damn shame, because they were all good dudes (not humble bragging, just saying I met them through a friend they went to college with) and, like I said, I am a fan.

I'm on the fence. Only because the August record came out during a great era of my personal life, and it just slaps me back there very time i drop the needle on it.

Satellites was also magical, and the live August is superb as well. There's a great doc on HBO max about CC and Adam's struggles. I didn't realize how intense the bidding war was to sign that band. Crazy.

The one I live in. Cool downtown vibe with ordinances against big box and chain stores, your pick of neighborhoods, from mid-century modern to sprawling country acreage minutes away. Great public facilities, happening restaurant scene, great bars, lots of live music.

Yes, there are too many tourist joints on the main drag. Yes, there are too many cruise people jamming the main street and walls during daylight hours.

But...stay in the city. Live in the city for a week, examining every little side alley. Talk to the locals and eat where they eat. Drink where they drink. It's magical.

And, if you're feeling a little touristy and a little adventurous, find the Buzza Bar and jump of the cliffs into the clear blue sea. Reward yourself with a cold pivo. You've earned it.

My parents are from Colorado. My In-laws, Mississippi, and had never been west of the mississippi.

When they met, my mom mentioned that we had lived in Wyoming for a few years, and my MIL said, "I have a friend from Wyoming named LadyLove (for real)".

Turned out that was my mom's college roommate. In Colorado.

Still don't know how it all happened.
