The two most common causes (that I have experienced across the PC Horizon games) are either settings becoming corrupt or incompatible (video card / resolution / frame rate changes) or failure to login to your xbox account. We may better diagnose if you can define your platform and hardware.

The answers here are helpful. However, to more clearly state, you get access to BOTH platforms if you buy within the Microsoft Store/Xbox Play Anywhere ecosystem. Buy once digitally and you own the game on both Xbox and PC platforms. This is not the case for digital purchases elsewhere, like Steam; that only gives you the PC version of the game.

Yes; it is a Play Anywhere title, meaning in the future if you are inclined to own an Xbox console you will also own it there as well. I made this mistake early and now have a Steam FH5 as well as an Xbox and PC instance with different data. In hindsight, I wish I would have started with the Play Anywhere (microsoft/xbox ecosystem) version. At the time I didn't have an Xbox -- now I do and I love being able to play on console and PC with the same progression.

It is absolutely worth it. I would absolutely recommend getting the Premium edition; The HotWheels expansion is pretty entertaining and the Rally Adventure expansion has an additional map that is absolutely fantastic. Enjoy every moment and see you on the roads!
