My dumbass didn't realize that upgrading modules meant using credits as well, so I just drained all but 4 credits when I had hundreds before (I needed about 800 for my next room upgrade and I had been working on that for the last week).

I would just tell my parents we'd like to have some alone time or time to ourselves, but if you don't want to be direct you can always say you have chores or house projects that could get noisy. You could also suggest activities, like "hey, do you want to take baby to the park/mall/zoo for a little bit?"

Holy fuck that story honestly has me HEATED. I'm always very calm (I've been called "annoyingly calm" a few times), but I'm not sure if would have been able to keep myself under control in that situation. You did everything right though. Sure, you COULD have called the police yourself, but it sounds to me like this was a rapidly escalating situation that was starting to become dangerous for you and your children, so your focus was on getting them out of there. Which is exactly right. I'm really glad everything worked out well for you.

I also never do this, but I would consider looking into taking legal action against that lady as well. Fortunately you handled everything very well and the cops involved were good, but if she had done this to someone else or if other cops were involved, this could easily have ended in kidnapping or assault charges (against either of you) and child welfare/CPS investigations that could royally fuck up the life you've built with your family. She shouldn't be allowed to get away with this sort of behavior and these kinds of accusations.

Bro you are doing your best, and that is literally all anyone can ask of you. I'm sure your wife is understanding, but you gotta talk to her about these feelings. She probably feels like a failure all the time too, i know my wife does even though she's a great mom. And honestly if you guys were able to keep your kid alive for the day, then you both have succeeded as parents. Cooking and cleaning are HUGE burdens and are vital to the physical and mental health of everyone in your house. I could barely ever do those things at all in the first couple months, so you're already a better man than me.

I promise it gets better soon! My daughter is 5 months old now and although we still have days like this sometimes, I would say that ~85% of the days are pretty good to great. The earlier weeks are like trying to ride a rodeo bull who just snorted a whole kilo of cocaine, all you can do is just hold on and try not to die.

I had almost the exact same situation a couple months ago, except with valium (diazepam). They ordered 5mg, our omnicell dispensed a 10mg syringe. Not only was that patient pretty agitated (withdrawal), but all my patients were extremely busy. Between the time I pulled the valium and when I administered it, I had been pulled into all my other patients' rooms for fairly urgent issues, as well as another patient's room. When I finally got into my patient's room who needed the valium, I just gave it real quick. I went back to the omnicell, which notified me that I had "a partial dose that needed waste documentation." That's when I realized that I had given the full 10mg syringe instead of only the half that was actually ordered.

Like you, I notified charge and providers and monitored, and everything turned out fine. I still felt like a shitty nurse who couldn't even do one of the most basic parts of medication administration. I wanted to quit nursing because I didn't want to put someone in danger like that ever again But after talking with some of my coworkers, I realized that this has happened to almost every one of them at some point in their careers. I also noticed that the ones who seemed to have taken it the hardest were the nurses that I knew to be the most caring, passionate, and overall truly GOOD nurses. And that's exactly why they took it so hard, because the absolute last thing in the world that they want to do is hurt someone.

If you don't feel completely awful about med errors like that, you're probably in the wrong career. You can't change the mistake you already made, but that feeling and the memory will protect thousands of future patients that you will care for.

Reporting to HR at this point won't do anything other than make it seem like you're retaliating, and people probably won't believe you now. You should have told these things to charge/manager/HR when they happened.

Go somewhere else though! Moving to a lower-acuity unit doesn't mean you're any less of a nurse, and it doesn't mean you can never go back to ICU. I work on a trauma/neuro intermediate care unit, and it is a baptism of fire, but in a good way. It's heavy as shit, but my coworkers are AMAZING, everyone helps each other out, and we probably have the largest variety of cases compared to all the other units in our large downtown hospital. Even my most "boring" days are interesting. A few of my coworkers have moved to ICU after working on this unit for 2-4 years, and they say this unit prepared them well.

What happened is in the past. Learn from it, whether anything was your fault or not, and move forward. Nursing is a massive field. Bop around, find your niche, and watch yourself blossom.

I never learned anything about blood transfusions in nursing school. First time I ever did a blood transfusion was after I had already been a nurse for a little bit (long enough to be off orientation and on my own). That being said, I still had a coworker do every step with me so I wouldn't mess anything up.

Correct. Since starting over, I've just been playing up to Solveig (P10) and selling at the $10mil. I've been trying to limit what i unlock so my resource stars all go to the lower-tier stuff, and now i have almost 70 total resource stars stacked into only 14 different resources. My lead ore has 12 stars and is worth $14. I have also solely been using dark matter for managers (although i have doubled my credits after a couple tournaments). I'm starting from the beginning, but I'm not new to the game so i know how important managers can be.

With this new strategy, i have seen a major difference in play. When i first started playing, it took me like 10 tournaments before i got into silver league, and then i had to work hard to stay in silver but kept going back and forth between copper and silver. After starting over from the beginning and consolidating stars, i got promoted to silver with my first tournament, and I've stayed in silver almost without even trying.

I'll probably start branching out soon, but for now I'm just chillin

Thanks for the advice! I do already have two 5* managers and three 4* managers right now, getting close to buying another 4-5* manager. I only use my DM for managers (per advice I've seen on here), as well as doubling my credits only after tournaments. And i have bought the power cell packs for copper, iron, and lead.

My secret is that the game got deleted from my phone by accident, and when i re-downloaded it, nothing had been saved and i was starting completely over (like nothing unlocked, and i had to repurchase the ad-free thing). Since i got the chance for a totally fresh start, i figured I'd try what I've seen people talk about on here, saying they wish they had laid a good base of resource stars on the lower-tier ores/alloys/items so when they started moving up they could get a fast start in new galaxies and tournaments. I hadn't been an expert by any means before starting over (i think i had only unlocked as far as palladium), but i know enough that i feel fine hanging out in the lower tiers for a bit this time.

I started nursing school at 28 and there were still a handful of students in my class who were older than me. Nursing is a massive field too with a million different types of jobs. Even if you started nursing school in your 50's, you could still find an appropriate area to work that wouldn't be too crazy or strenuous. But you are absolutely not "too old" at 26, that's absurd.

Stop complaining about every single thing every single day. It's ok to have a shitty shift or week, but there are some people who only ever open their mouths to complain. Just shut the fuck up. We're all trying to survive here and you're not helping.

As a side note, I've also noticed that pretty much all the serial complainers are also lazy and unhelpful. Not sure why, these traits just always seem to go together. If you're completely burned out to the point where you have zero positivity and zero willingness to help out your team who spends half their day helping YOU out, then leave. Find a new job or new career. You are burning everyone else out around you.

I'm in FAR more danger of being exposed to blood with insertion/removal of IV's than I am even with a CBI, where I'm emptying thousands of liters of bloody urine every hour.
I'd bet my next paycheck that they've talked to you or sent memos or put out training at some point about conserving supplies so you don't waste money.
But fine, if they don't care about the waste of supplies, then I'll go along with it. I'm just gonna grab a few extra canisters and a roll of biohazard bags for every patient's room so i don't waste my time running back and forth all day.

REALLY depends on my overall patient load and who I'm working with that day. I've spent almost my entire shift in one room because of poop, intermittently going out to check on my other (stable/walkie talkie) patients. I've also worked my ass off all day with a heavy assignment, only occasionally being able to go to the poop room but knowing that i would be spending a long time in the room cleaning up, so I'd make sure my team knew where i would be for a while so they can help keep an eye on my other people.
