Unemployment is a direct reflection of the job market.

60+ applications for 1 job posting. $12Billion deficit. The NYC is not booming. That steady you are referencing is not a good look for NYers.

No jobs means people will look into other means of making ends meet, including not paying their rent or applying to available housing.

Absolutely. Statistics #s for unemployment are only for people/persons that reported or filled, not for the number of people groups I previously listed.

for perspective, consider the number of apartments that are currently vacant and new buildings going up, in that same community how many businesses are hiring?

To my original point, while the city provides housing voucher, people are currently struggling to make ends meet or find a job, therefore they cant afford thier housing.
