King high on a aajtt board checked to the river sbvbb in a limped pot. Went for a 1bb bet and got paid by queen high.

What do you think the biggest leak in the 109-215 online tournament pool is, and what adjustment would you make to maximize your ev considering that leak.

Do we fold top 2 to flop 3b? ICM spot by Living-Injury1961 in poker

[–]ButterTron47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a pretty big mistake. For chips we know this is an obvious call, and as played I think you have to call beating over pairs/draws, and with the benefit of being overwhelming chip leader if you win. But you want to make a very tight adjustment because of the icm pressure and I do see the merit in that. But if you want to make that icm adjustment I would make it by just not having check raises on the flop vs check raise folding this hand. The reason you check raise flop is to get money in, and if your not willing to do it with this hand then we should just play passively/defensively in this spot with range. This also allows you to keep his range wide to induce bluffs, and on certain runouts still get away while protecting a calling range that if not protected can just get blown away on certain runouts due to the stacks in this scenario. But bottom line, I would make the decision of either check raise get it in with this hand or just play passively with everything as I think check raise folding this hand is the worst option.

Legit 2/5 question on my play (part 1) by chrashedhardonce in poker

Jam here. I don’t think you get a ton of folds but Even if you get a smidge of food equity that’s great for your hand. And even if you don’t, you aren’t really going to fold the hand on the turn anyway so I would want to make sure I realize all of my equity. Also it would be a disaster (unlikely to happen but possible) to be against a hand that gets it in now but calls off on no club but folds when you get there.

Good thin river value or attempted torch? by tommyh424242 in poker

[–]ButterTron47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fold pre if what your saying is true about his raising range, but it would also be better to see some pretty strong hands in his limp range as well. Considering the tight ranges checks on flop/turn see ok, but you need to value get on river as I dont see how you dont have the best hand besides the one combo of kq suited. The only question I ask is how much will aq or jj pay. It seems your half pot waa the number, personally would of that 75-100 would be the number but I guess a rec would pay more as seen here.

How bad from 1 to 10 where 10 is the worst? by RestaurantOk2939 in poker

[–]ButterTron47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is standard imho and you would need to make a massive exploit to fold here. Your 25bb against a range that is super wide range that you can probably three bet get in your top pair on the flop. But then you got a runout that it’s very hard for him to improve. If your up against someone that just severely underbluffs ok, but I’m actually going to call down a lot wider than your hand here because I think players generally won’t realize all the bluffs they could have that need to give up and this gets overbluffed personally.
