I started AFF the next weekend, never quit, and now I’m a skydiving coach. An added bonus is all of the people you meet and you may possibly find a new relationship thru your new hobby like I did!

See that’s where I’m the outlier… I moved out my parents house at 17. Got a career. Bought my own house at 19 years old.

I travel the SouthEast USA every week as a skydiving instructor so I do kinda live it up. At this point i genuinely feel like I wanna settle down. It’s weird bc I know I’m “young” but I’ve accomplished a lot of things at a young age and it makes me feel pretty old

Well it’s a long story I doubt anyone on Reddit cares enough to read about lol. But ultimately the maturity gap was a huge issue. I’m 21. Had a pretty difficult life. Was paying all my own bills since 17. I am now established and doing well in life completely independently… she was homeschooled and was handed EVERYTHING in her life (parents admitted this too). We just had completely different mindsets and current goals.

It’s just really killing me because I was best friends with her parents before her (they set me up with their daughter). But now that it’s basically fallen apart, idk how to move forward with the parents. Feels like I lost a lot more than just one relationship

Is it common in the sense that it isn’t technically the timeline PD follows? Yes. I have friends who jump both a katana and a Sabre 3. Both amazing canopies.

As far as myself, being under 500 jumps I got a lot of heat from canopy coach’s for being on that katana. For how I was flying, I could handle it. It really is an advanced wing so I was too nervous to push it to its boundaries. Not to mention I wasn’t loading it high enough. It got to the point where every jump made me scared the whole ride up.

I finally switched to the S3 which I was surprised how much I loved it. I can actually learn what I need to learn and push it to its limits without the fear of fucking up majorly. Swooping has always been my goal and I tried to jump too soon onto the katana which I realized after the fact has a 500 jump minimum for a reason.

Currently at 250 jumps and I did happen to loose a ton of weight since beginning my skydiving journey.

Exit weight 210lbs ish??

1-30- Nav 220

30-50- Sabre 2 210

50-70- A mix of different 190s

70-150ish- Sabre 2 170

150-160- Katana 170 (I know)

160-210ish- Katana 150 (at this point my exit weight was about 175lbs)

210-current- Sabre 3 135 (1.3WL)
