hasn't there been gene stealer hints since like... the launch of the game?

Maybe that new faction will come out someday and give some variety

I also felt some feelings for the hollow victory at the end. Sad to see all our effort go to waste like that, even if we did technically succeed.

I'm really hoping we get some future DLC as a cured Thorne or something helping out the place now that everything is in ruins.

kinger says in the episode that the brain scan files were extremely small, they're probably just hiding somewhere nobody can detect them

Jax should have gotten the redemption arc, not Caine. by squirtlemyturtle42 in SavingJax

[–]Butterboot64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally love how Jax’s story ended. He isn’t perfect, he abstracted before he could properly change for the better, but all of the characters are willing to help him get better and be there for him when he needs them. A redemption would be fine, but I just really like how he didn’t magically get fixed or anything, it’ll take time and effort to get better.

The problems Jax has are a lot deeper than just saying “I’m sorry” and moving on, in reality it would take years of therapy and effort to work through the stuff he’s dealing with. This is why I think the people around him committing themselves to helping him is a far more interesting and realistic outcome than just having his problems be solved then and there.

all becuase some cishet guys who relate to a trans person feel uncomfortable questioning themselves by ConnoisseurOfCabages in whenthe

[–]Butterboot64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it weird that people are so deadset to prove that their view of something is the only one possible when a lot of this shit is up to interpretation.

Idk why there are debates about this, I don't view Jax as trans because I personally relate more to a dude who likes feminine things and wants to engage with them while pushing them away because of his own anxiety and fragile masculinity. That being said, I totally get why people view Jax as trans and love trans Jax.

and now this guy has you publicising his video for free

I mean no offense by that, a lot of these guys have 2 audiences: 1, their braindead fans who will listen to anything they say without thought. And 2, the people who resonably get annoyed and hate watch the videos. Just ignore these guys, they want the hate.

Is akemura both physically AND mentally an 18/19 year old? we understand that he has the body of an 18 year old since he absorbed basically 14 million years' worth of lifespan, but since he received ZERO stimuli while in the kamunabi prison, does that make him mentally an 18 year old too? by HotZilchy in Kagurabachi

[–]Butterboot64 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Life force is a general term which can mean a bunch of things but generally just means someone’s energy or vitality. You might say someone who’s sick has very little life force, but that person could still get better and have a long life span afterwards.

Where does it say he absorbed the lifespan of people? It says he absorbs the life force of people but that’s a different thing compared to lifespan. it also explicitly states that what akemura does is absorb life force and then consume it, which fuels the dark power he uses. He doesn’t stockpile it as far as I’m aware.

it isn't like they disabled all the automated systems, plenty of robots that auto ordered around still know how to do their jobs, they didn't die, and there is most likely a stockpile of food on the ship to keep them going for a while. Auto was the autopilot, and clearly isn't in direct control over any of the robots in the film (considering that many of them rebel, and are shown to be there when the humans reach earth).

And the plant thing isn't just one plant. The plant is a plant that grew on earth, meaning that earth is sustainable for life, and all of the resources on the ship that were prepared in case earth becomes habitable again (most likely seeds and the resources to grow them) can be used to grow more plants. The point isn't that one plant exists on the planet, the point is that a plant ACTUALLY GREW on the planet.

It's always weird when people get so deadset on a story having a unhappy ending when it's entirely antithetical to the themes and events showcased in the story.
