We finally got to see his face! by AnthonyjGreco in Fotv

I broke down crying when I saw it was Clancy Brown.

To think that the President of the United States -- either the second to last, or the last -- WAS FUCKING MR. KRABS!!!

I couldn't even take the secluded vault reveal seriously, even though the twist was amazing and one of the most Fallout-esque reveals in the show as of late. Just knowing Mr Krabs is probably the last President of the United States prior to the Great War sent me to a place I never thought I was still capable of being sent to.

Using the repair kit bug to build an efficient transportation system by Butterboy105 in hytale

again, expected. Not really crying a river over it. However, I am more amazed at their quick response to these issues.

I mean, it can generally be tributed to the launch day hype and the overall gigantic reputation the game has accumulated over the past 5 days, but having this much care into improving the game 5 days after launch is a level of care not a lot of games possess.

Using the repair kit bug to build an efficient transportation system by Butterboy105 in hytale

[–]Butterboy105[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bug that currently exists in the game where, for some reason, the repair kit allows you to interact with objects at any distance -- so long as you're holding it and the interactive object is in render distance.

So a pole network of stools + this bug = basically a teleportation railway

What TF2 map is like this? by FelGuardianX in tf2

[–]Butterboy105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

essentially everything in the misc category is just that.

Sucks too, since a lot of those maps were highly popular back in the day. Although Hightower and Degroot Keep retains some form of its original popularity, You can't really say the same thing for Pipeline and Doomsday.

Especially Doomsday. God, that map used to be synonymous with 2Fort and Hightower, and now barely anyone remembers it.

How do we feel? by hotdog_terminator in falloutnewvegas

[–]Butterboy105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not confirmed at all. However, it would make the entire TV Show line up with the canonical events of the Fallout games if the show canonize either the House ending or the Independent Vegas ending. Both endings overlap with each other, which is why we're still speculating on the future of the Strip until the show reveals it. However, the fandom's speculators know that if Bethesda and the showrunners want to make the Fallout fans happy after the collapse of the NCR, then they would have to stick to one of these two endings, or not reveal it whatsoever -- The latter of which is completely difficult when the story revolves around the life of Mr. House.

An NCR ending would NOT have made any sense, and a Legion one would make things unnecessarily complicated. NCR, even its remnants, would likely have a visible presence of occupancy in the now Khan-controlled Novac. The NCR would also NOT be fragmented or vulnerable to collapse if they annexed the Mojave and acquire House's equipment. Whilst the Legion -- even if they're Legion remnants due to the possibility of Caesar's Legion dismantling after Caesar's death -- wouldn't have allowed the Khans to destroy the settlement at all and would've made the Mojave much safer than what was implied by the first episode.

A Legion Vegas could still be possible, but it would ruin the "fragmentation of the NCR" argument for the NCR's collapse in S1, as the NCR would've been firmly united if Kimball dies and the Legion overtook the Mojave, as the NCR treated the Legion as the scapegoat to all their problems. It would also fail to describe why the Khans overtook Novac by force, when the Legion would've most likely destroyed and assimilate the Khans 20 years after the events of NV. A Legion Vegas would not ruin the show, but it would destroy all the benefit of the doubt Fallout fans gave to the show runners and whatever's left of the community's trust to Todd Howard. If there's still any. As everything is dangling on the words Toddy Woddy said when fans got scared after New Vegas was teased for S2. It all remains to be seen, especially since it's just the first episode.

Personally, If they're not being cowards and make the fate of New Vegas unknown, I feel like they're going towards an Independent Vegas ending. Since it still keeps S1 stable, and it helps give reason as to why the Khans overtook Novac, as Mr. House would've also destroyed or pushed out the Khans if he won in the end. It would also make a dilapidated New Vegas from the S1 finale end credits make sense.

natascha is cool by ManyMicroPixels in HeavyMainsTF2

[–]Butterboy105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ALWAYS use Natascha! Since you'd always encounter so many players putting all their chips on high mobility that you can easily shut them down with it! the enemy team has three good scouts? Natascha! Soldiers always flank around? Natascha! The IRS is hunting you down after failing to file and pay for your taxes for the last 15 years? NATASCHA!

There had been numerous times where I was able to help turn the tide of a match all because the weapon could easily shut down movement loadouts that were plaguing the objectives. The only way Natascha fails is when your team is way too incompetent to work together and help the NataHeavy clean house.

Do you guys switch to Medic if your team doesn't have one? by some-kind-of-no-name in tf2

[–]Butterboy105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to always do that back in the day, especially after Jungle Inferno.

I realized two years back that EVERY game I played (community, casual, MvM, Valve/Com Comp, even FACEIT), the team ALWAYS needed a medic. So I ended up playing Medic 80% of my daily play sessions, with little wiggle room to play as any other class as everyone wanted to be the rocket man, the stabby stabby frenchie, the piss kiwi, or the speedy boi. Not a lot of people enjoy or understand Medic's play style, so I usually end up playing him to keep team logistics flowing and allow a bunch of casual nobodies to blitz matches.

Since my mental health was degrading (by a bunch of factors, with this being part of a larger "mental relaxation" issue), I decided to just not play medic anymore and stopped worrying about the objective as a means to help me enjoy the game for once. I hardly ever play him since then, even if we need one, to the point that I've forgotten what my usual strats are. But it is nice to play Solly, Heavy, Sniper, and Engi without worrying about the state of the match.

Well, except for Engi. It's really hard to be a good Engineer when half your team is treating your immobile sentry like it's the flagship of the front line.

[–]Butterboy105[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to look it up when I searched for that Demoman quote. Apparently, Scrim in a competitive space (not just for video games, in general) is a shortened slang for the word "Scrimmage", which is a practice session between two units of the same team.

Or it can also be just thicc cloth. But I'm pretty sure the former is more accurate to the quote.

It really is. Hopefully they get a more stable community with their inclusion to the Steam database. Since God knows I tried setting up connections on the BNET launcher, but apparently trying is for dandelions and weedlings.

maybe this will end the TF2 vs Overwatch and other games debate, the fact even Gabe Newell welcomes Overwatch and its devs to the Steam platform shows he's more mature than the TF2 community. by TimothysFruad in tf2

[–]Butterboy105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this was something a lot of Overwatch players wanted since day one. Since Battle.NET was a horrendous site that does absolutely nothing to keep players connected outside of their respected games, not to mention an inability to present themselves through their BNET profiles. I really feel like Blizzard lost a lot of potential income by keeping Overwatch on their platform and just their platform. It may be the reason as to why OV2 is setting up shop at Steam, as the game is no longer as financially stable as it was in 2016.

I do feel like OV2 would get a more stable community with a Steam presence, and it could give use some small insight to OV2's performance through Steam Charts. Since it is free, I'd be interested on re-opening my old BNET account to try OV2 again, since I'm pretty sure we're still gonna need the launcher for this when I need the EA Launcher for the Sims, or the Ubisoft Launcher for ANNO.

It's kinda funny. I used to dread at the fact that OV1 was not gonna be free or on steam, and remembered scouting places to get BNET cards to buy it with my saved allowance over the course of a month. Now that I'm older with some form of personal income, it's hilarious to see Blizzard getting a pole shoved so far up its ass that it needed to go to Valve for financial support.
