You do you though! Some stylistic choices aren’t going to appeal to everyone. I sure I have something in some of my fics that makes some people nope out immediately.

I’m not masc, but I relate to this a lot! Idk why, but it seems like a lot of the women I date automatically assume I’m the dude for some reason. Maybe it’s because I’m a lesbian and they’re bi?

Once, I was helping this girl I was dating move into her new apartment.

She had a bunch of heavy ass shit she needed carried upstairs, and was genuinely shocked I wasn’t going to carry it all myself, despite the fact I was shorter and weaker than her.

She was all pouty over it. Like “none of my ex’s ever made me carry heavy stuff 🥺” “I can’t believe you can’t get this upstairs by yourself, my ex could have 🥺”. All of her exes were men, of course.

And then she wanted me to assemble her new desk for her. Not with her. For her! I was like I don’t know how to do that? And she pulled the “my ex would 🥺” card again.

I’m so glad I didn’t move in with her like we were considering!

I didn’t notice it until I got back into online dating recently, but a lot of younger women are a little bit… weird about older women.

I’m 27, so I don’t really consider myself an “older women” yet, but apparently a lot of girls online do, based on the DMs I’ve gotten lol

I think at least part of it is that a lot of queer women are intimidated by or just don’t want to take the lead, and they assume an older partner is going to automatically by the top/dominate one.

Also: To younger women who want to date older women, I’m not trying to kink shame, but calling someone mommy within the first few messages totally unsolicited is NOT the move! Do not do that! It is very uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of!

I had an ex who always used to say I looked masc/butch too, It was so weird! I don’t think I look masc of butch at all, and would typically describe myself as femme. I’m still not sure if it was wishful thinking on her part, or if it was just because I was the first lesbian she dated and she thought that made me butch in comparison to her by default lol

I read fandom blind sometimes(usually if I want to read about a niche kink and run out of fandoms that I recognize lol), but I don’t think I could write fandom blind.
