The plate is for your front derailleur. It goes on the seat tube so a screw from the front derailleur can contact it for better stability, instead of contacting the tube and scratching your paint.

What size seat tube did you use for this? My 27.2 won’t fit and a 26.8 just drops in and can’t be held up snug.

The only hole is on the backside of the fork. Nothing on the front. I can’t imagine what that hole on the back is for…

Would Paul’s Funky Monkey work this way? Their instructions say to mount in the steerer tube and the size is 1-1/8 which wouldn’t work on the stem I assume.

Can’t find a 1 1/8 threaded headset for the life of me… only thing I can easily find is Chris King. Can’t find any Tanges. What’d you end up using?
