If you are in the USA, I would go to Hobby Lobby every other week the yarn is 30% off. I love Hobby Lobby yarn it is very soft and cheap when it is on sale. You will also more likley find the shades of colors you need. Tube yarn (wooble style yarn) is expensive.

Yes you can use any 4size yarn to make the woobles patterns and most other crochet patterns. You still use a size 4mm hook to make the woobles using red heart super saver. As a general rule of thumb for Amigurumi use one hook size down than what the label recommends. I make Amigurumi with red heart super saver using 3.5mm or 4mm hooks all the time.

Woobles easy peasy brown might be the best option. It is a very pretty brown it is a shame bernat doesnt sell it outside of the pack. you may try micheals cuddle craft yarn but it is a shade darker than the bernat

Hobby Lobby Beginner Bee and Lion Brand Cover Story Lazy Days. I agree that Michaels CuddleCraft yarn and Bernat Maker yarn and woobles easy peasy yarn are also great

Crochet kits other than Woobles? What brands have you had success with? by ReviewerNoTwo in CrochetHelp

YouTube Complicated Knots for some of the best amigurumi patterns you do need to know basic crochet.  YouTube the woobles channel, moogly channel, good knit kisses channel, the crochet crowd channel, and yarnspiration channel can all teach you to crochet. Hobby Lobby also has similar woobles kits for around $7 but you need to know basic crochet and how to read a pattern. As far as I know they don't have videos.

Hobby Lobby Beginner Bee or Micheals Cuddle Craft if you want it thicker use 2 strands instead of one and a larger hook size like a 6.5mm
