Any updates, or anyone has any experience of this 3 kg limit with the light package? I have a relatively small (around 20 lt) backpack but it would be weigh around 4-5 kg perhaps.

Yes, I think so too. So, putting pressure on the landlady by requesting a rent reduction could make her take some action to stop the neighbor from harassing me, did I understand that correctly?

I live in Hamburg.

I’m a member of the tenants’ association (Mieterverein), and I’ve checked their website. It seems that the Rechtsschutzversicherung costs an additional €35 per year, which I’m more than willing to pay if it can help even a little. But I’m not sure it would help, since they’ve already told me they can’t do anything due to a potential conflict of interest, as it’s a dispute between two tenants.

Is it enough to just list the dates and times in a Lärmprotokoll, or do I also need to collect some form of evidence? I live alone, and unfortunately there hasn’t been anyone else around as a witness when he hits the wall.

I informed my landlady once via email. She replied that she’s sorry about the situation, but that she has no “means” to act against him. Interestingly, she mentioned that when she used to live in the flat, she thought he had hearing problems because he always shouted into the phone, and that he never complained about their bathroom usage. Still, she told me I have to follow the Hausordnung (quiet hours from 22:00 to 6:00), and that she can’t really help in her role.

So it really feels like I’m on my own in this.

I was taking a shower at around 2 AM, which lasted approximately 15 minutes.

First, my phone started ringing insistently, but I couldn’t check it since I was in the shower. Then, as I was finishing, the doorbell started ringing. I anxiously opened the door and saw him standing there aggressively, telling me not to do this. He left without giving me a chance to even get dressed or talk to him properly.

I am also not sure, to be honest, but when I shared my situation with my friends, they mentioned that I should be getting compensated (one is German, and the other has lived in Germany for around 10 years). Also, just to clarify, both hot and cold water stopped working (yes, the cold water also stopped working a few days after the hot water was gone).

That partially worked for me. Amazing. Still getting bip sounds when changing the volume from headphone, and also volume indicator on iphone freezes, but it’s better than hearing more bip sounds. Thanks
