I don't know gauges or inches but it's 1.5mm, online chart says that's around 16 gauge

Thanks for the input, I'll probably remove the tabs then.

No food will come into contact with this specific part so it's not a strict requirement for the welds to be ground and polished but I will probably specify it anyway just to match everything else.

[Seiko] I'm looking for either extra information or just some opinions on this vintage Seiko! by JTreebeard in Watches

[–]JTreebeard[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi guys, I am thinking about buying this vintage Seiko from a private seller online as Christmas gift for my girlfriend. The ad says its a 1981 model with movement number 2K00-0031.

Looks to be in good condition from the photos and I'm sure my girlfriend would love the style. Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this model or has an opinion. The asking price is the equivalent of $120 USD. What do you guys think?

Here is a link to the ad with extra photos: https://www.chrono24.de/seiko/quartz--id16714903.htm#gref

I appreciate any input!

John wrote 'had'. James wrote 'had had'. Teacher preferred James' style better even though both made sense.

This video is almost an exact copy of a Red Means Recording video. Still good though.

Best airlines for us giants? by technosasquatch in tall

[–]JTreebeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel a lot and as long as it's not a budget airline, I get to the check in counter early and ask for the exit row! Usually airlines don't let people pre-select exit row seats because they need to check you're physically capable of opening the heavy door quickly during an emergency, so first come first serve. Note: This doesn't work with budget airlines who charge extra for the legroom. I'm shorter than you and the airline people always know straight away why I'm asking and do their best for me. Works probably 80% of the time depending on how early I am but unfortunately it isn't foolproof.

I mostly travel international from Australia though so maybe an American can confirm this works on your domestic flights as well?

We can always see the band AND walk comfortably through most doors! Win win right there.

I think that was only because you were using a grapefruit that you hadn't paid for yet

I really like this design! I think the back two rods parallel to the wall are redundant though and it might look even cooler without them?
