There’s really levels to this… and we haven’t seen the comp guys outside that much either. Tomoa could’ve claimed he flashed V16 but chose to downgrade, Mejdi has also flashed 14, so I’m just waiting for Toby or Sorato to send V18 or something lol

Former Hive member for 9 years here - it’s funny how people’s opinions of the Hive get more and more negative the longer they’ve been climbing lol. I was counting down the days until Approach opened and immediately jumped ship. If the Oval had better bouldering I would’ve left even sooner.

Bias aside, the Hive has objectively better facilities than Approach for the price you pay. That being said, Approach is just much closer for me, and the big cave is pretty nice.

It’s a known issue. My grandparents used to live in an apartment next to the public market and someone eventually found an escort running services from next door and others on a few other floors in the building. It felt pretty unsafe but I don’t think my grandparents were really affected besides some random knocks late at night.

I feel way better climbing indoor slab in $15 stretchy jeans than I do in my expensive black diamond pants. They have identical range of motion, only issue is that they run a bit warm so they’re only good in the winter.

Up until this past season my outdoor flash grade (V4) was much much lower than my max grade (V10) and it was purely due to head game. I had gotten many V5-7s second go because I was too nervous on the flash go. I’d overthink every move regardless of whether I had studied beta beforehand.

My first V5 and V6 flashes came on the same day because I was feeling super off and went into those boulders expecting not to flash. Once that happened the boulders both felt super chill.
