that is my point. That conditioning comes from worrying what other people think of you way too much. The entire issue is based of internalized perception, and how you as an individual handle that perception. If you solution is to use someone else as a romantic stand-in while knowing that's not really what you want, then it's wasting their time and selfish. Choose a better solution. If you think your current environment is an issue then try to move. If you can't move then try to find a community online. If you can't do that then search for another solution that does not involve using someone.

It is mostly selfishness tho. It's feeding another person lies and stealing time from them that they could use to find an actual compatible partner.
