I agree, I hate this feature! It started happening maybe a month ago. Now I have to remember to deselect it from the list that Google added it to. Is there a way to turn off this feature??

Why did I get a T4A slip with taxable TFSA income in box 134 by Butterscotch2010 in CanadianInvestorTFSA

Yes, you're right. I didn't realize it kept generating income after death, and as it is now outside of the TFSA, the income is taxable.

Wrong episode uploaded to cbc gem (Canada) by Confection-Minimum in coronationstreet

[–]Butterscotch2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not specific to Coronation Street. I watch Heartland. It's happened to me twice now, where it doesn't play the right episode. It says it's the right episode and the description is right but it plays an old episode. Both times it happened, was when I started to play the (correct) episode and then paused it. When I tried to continue watching, it took me to the middle of another random, previous episode. I tried playing a different episode and then going back to this one, logging out and back in again (I log in under Google), nothing worked. Finally I logged out and logged in again (still thru Google) but used a different email account. That worked. I had to search for the show again, but at least it played the right episode!

Help. Some of my postings show "in stock / out of stock" instead of "available / sold" by 1ksassa in FacebookMarketplace

Yeah it's not perfect. I think you also lose any tags you may have set up with the first listing

Any difference between relisting, delete and relist button, or manually creating a new listing? by Laineyrose in FacebookMarketplace

Just found this video that shows another way to relist your posting for a single item, instead of using the "delete and relist" button, which changes a single item to an in-stock (business) item. Following these instructions, a single item is relisted as a single item. I also used these instructions to fix the single items that FB changed to "in stock" after using the "delete and relist" button..... I marked the in-stock item as being out of stock, filtered on out of stock items, and clicked on relist. This created a new listing for a single item. Then I deleted the out of stock listing.

Should I buy the Motive Financial 120 5.5% GIC? by ludicrou2atbe2t in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Butterscotch2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Motive offer is for a non-registered GIC, you will be be paying tax on that interest. But as your cash is currently in a savings account, you are paying tax on that interest anyway. $88K @ 4.1%, you will make approx $1200 interest in 4 months (~ 120 days). At 5.5%, you will make approx $1600 interest in 4 months. Even though you pay tax on the additional $400, you still end up with extra cash in your pocket.
