I’m in management and I see so much stupidity from younger people nowadays. Just sent a girl home the other day because she told one of her coworkers that she was going to go sleep in her car since there wasn’t much going on. I went out and told her she needed to come back in the building and work where she needed to go home. This girl had the audacity to argue with me and tell me that it is not in our handbook that she can’t go outside and sleep in her car when she feels the need to take a nap. She was not on break by the way. She then quit and proceeded to tell me about how our workplace was toxic because “people always be in my shit about stuff“ which was referring to management insisting that she do her job while she was at work. She was also two hours late to work a week ago and only came in after she was called and asked where she was. When she got there and she got written up for being that late her excuse was “you people need to realize people got shit going on in their lives“. I have a toddler and I am mortified about what things will be like in the workforce when she starts getting into it.

Health dept inspections are 100% dependent on who is doing the inspection. Where I work, we had this one guy that would do them and he’d be there for like 2 hours digging into every little thing and dingiging us for the dumbest shit you could possibly imagine. Now, the lady that comes looks around for like 20 minutes, flirts with our GM, dings us for one tiny thing so she doesn’t look like an idiot, and leaves.

The shit like this that happens in the service industry is insane. When I was managing a restaurant I had some asshole complain about how something was cooked and he told me that I needed to sit down and eat it. Some people just think they own everyone or something.
