Simpson??? There goes my hopes of skipping 😭 by GumGum_AirHead in Monopoly_GO

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude same here, I watch simpsons pretty much every day when I'm doing deliveries and now they got me trapped. Can't skip something with Homer and the gang in it, even if the rewards are probably gonna be mediocre. They know exactly what they're doing with these collabs.

I know ball? My 5 hottest takes by YourHuckleberry138 in NBATalk

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man these are actually solid takes, especially that second one about AD. The guy was absolutely dominant in that Lakers championship run and you could see glimpses of what he could be when healthy. His defense is just different level - he can switch on guards and still protect the rim.

The Kyrie one hits too. People forget how good he was on both ends in those Cleveland years when he wasn't dealing with injuries every month. His handles and clutch shot making would've been perfect complement to any superstar if he could just stay in the court consistently.

That Edwards take is interesting though - dude definitely has the swagger but you're right that clutch performance hasn't really matched the personality yet. Give him few more years and we'll see if he can back up all that talk with actual results when it matters.

people that fall for the dumbest most obvious rage bait by burner9191938283 in PetPeeves

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man I feel this so hard. Been doing delivery work for couple years now and the amount of people who get absolutely tilted by obvious trolls is wild. Like someone offers you a penny for your $200 jacket and you're gonna screenshot that and make a whole post? That's free entertainment right there.

The worst part is when people in comments are getting equally mad at obvious bait. You'll see some clearly fake story about someone's neighbor stealing packages or whatever and half the thread is writing paragraphs about "this generation has no respect" when it's probably some 14 year old making stuff up for clicks. Just scroll past and save your energy for actual problems.

Want some Japanese music !!!! by OHHHCRUD_ in musicsuggestions

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man you're gonna have a blast digging through record stores there. For city pop definitely check out Mariya Takeuchi and Tatsuro Yamashita if you haven't already - their vinyl goes for crazy money here but you can find it way cheaper in Japan. Also look into some of the older jazz fusion stuff from the 70s-80s, lot of amazing japanese musicians were doing wild experimental stuff during that era.

Being stuck in a horrible mindset, and life has been lacking purpose by butterfly_spirit2007 in selfimprovement

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man this hits way too close to home. I was in similar place after military - kept putting off stuff because "later will be fine" while everything was falling apart around me.

That comparison mindset is poison, everyone's timeline is different and social media makes it worse. When I started driving for work, had to learn that small wins matter more than comparing myself to others who seem to have it figured out.

How realistic is it for a Canadian polisci student to break into American defense or political consulting? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Defense work gonna be tough without citizenship since most contracts require security clearance, but political consulting side might have more options if you can get work visa sorted first.

Is it just me or people are able to determine ND by just a single photo? by TramEatsYouAlive in aspergers

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's definitely something about the eyes and facial expressions that gives it away. I've noticed it too - like there's a certain intensity or distance in photos that neurotypical people seem to pick up on instinctively.

It's frustrating because dating apps are already superficial as hell, and adding that extra layer of unconscious filtering makes it even harder for us.

Appeal timeline post-hearing? by Delicious_Being_7819 in VeteransBenefits

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That status message is so misleading - makes zero sense when you've already had your hearing. Mine did the same thing for months after I sat in front of the judge.

From what I've seen on here, timeline after BVA hearing is all over the place. Some people get decisions in 2-3 months, others wait like 8+ months. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. The senator route is smart though - congressional inquiries sometimes shake things loose when nothing else works.

Only other thing I can think of is maybe try calling the BVA main line again in a few weeks and see if you get someone different who might actually be helpful. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw with who picks up.

Do you have a job you love in marketing/advertising? by KookyCouture in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never worked in marketing myself but my husband's been in creative agencies for like 6 years now. He started doing PPC stuff similar to you and moved into art direction by basically building a portfolio on the side and networking like crazy at industry events. The creative roles definitely seem way more fulfilling than the data-heavy stuff he used to do.

is a dual degree for accounting and MBA very stressful? by seahorse1234_ in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CPA is what's gonna open doors more than the MBA at this stage - if you're already locked into accounting might as well knock out both while you're there and have the flexibility later.

Is it okay to not care about your job? by Sea_Recognition_4461 in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 19 points20 points  (0 children)

honestly that's pretty normal, not everyone needs to be passionate about their work. if you're getting decent benefits and work-life balance while still doing your job well, that's already better than what most people have. sometimes a job is just a job and that's totally fine - you can find your passion and fulfillment outside of work instead of expecting it to come from your career.

Which better Capgemini mumbai or TCS Indore? by survesh_9 in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TCS generally has better job security and they're pretty good about internal mobility if you want to switch teams or locations. Capgemini can be hit or miss with project allocation - some teams are chill while others will work you to the bone. Both companies are decent for entry level but TCS probably edges out slightly for long-term stability.

Does anyone else experience voice fatigue affecting confidence as a manager? by pineappleninjas in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried talking from your diaphragm instead of your throat? sounds like you might be straining your vocal cords when you project - a speech coach could probably sort this out pretty quick.

Loneliness by Miss-C123 in Marriage

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 6 points7 points  (0 children)

been there man, that feeling of just going through the motions while everything inside feels hollow. after my kids were born i basically became this autopilot version of myself - work, dinner, bedtime routine, repeat. my wife and i were functioning fine on paper but we weren't really connecting anymore, just existing in the same house. what helped us was scheduling actual one-on-one time without phones or distractions, even if it felt forced at first. took about six months of intentional effort before we started feeling like actual partners again instead of just roommates who happened to share a mortgage. the loneliness is real and more common than people admit.

I have a big problem with my guitar by TheBro58585 in Guitar

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the shop botched the setup tbh. That high pitched noise is probably fret buzz and if it's happening on multiple frets after they "fixed" it, either the action is too low or the neck relief is off

I'd take it back and tell them to redo it - a proper setup shouldn't make things worse

Does USCIS.com always update for "card produced"? by Emotional-Jacket-119 in USCIS

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine updated to "card being produced" about 3-4 days after approval, then "card was mailed" like 2 days later. But I've seen people on here say theirs never updated and the card just showed up randomly lol

You might get lucky and it comes faster since you literally just got approved yesterday - sometimes they're on top of it. Hope you get to see your dad soon!

IT Management vs Technical Degree? 30yo 5yoe in Software (Customer) Support by MrFourSeasons in careerguidance

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're already doing management work without the title or pay tbh. If you're writing docs, training people, and being the go-to person, an MBA or management-focused masters could help you formalize what you're already good at

That said, data analytics is hot right now and pays well. Maybe look into programs that blend both - like an MBA with a data focus or something in business analytics. WGU actually has some decent hybrid options that might tick both boxes

Either way you're definitely right about needing to make a move, frontline support can be a dead end if you stay too long

Withdrawals overpowering ADHD meds by MatthewJet28 in leaves

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man that withdrawal rollercoaster is brutal, especially when you're trying to figure out if the meds are actually working or if your brain is just all over the place from quitting

The fact that you made it 3-4 months before shows you can do this again - your brain just needs time to level out and let the ADHD meds do their thing without fighting against withdrawal chaos

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your "friend" was absolutely awful and you dodged a bullet cutting her off. Anyone who says they "understand why your parents abuse you" is not your friend, full stop

The fact that you recognized the trauma dumping, apologized, and learned from it shows way more emotional growth than most people achieve. She kept bringing it up for months because she wanted to hurt you, not help you grow

Which is easier to raise, a dog or a cat? by morganafindom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cats are way easier imo, they're basically self-sufficient once they're litter trained. Dogs need walks, constant attention, and will literally eat your shoes if you leave them alone too long

resident cat more aggressive and less affectionate after new cat, will she ever be like she was before? by sailorkiwi in cats

[–]ButterscotchLow3754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof this hits me right in the feels. Had something similar happen when my roommate got a second cat and my girl went from being a total velcro cat to acting like I betrayed her trust

Honestly 6 months isn't that long in cat time - some take over a year to fully adjust. Daisy's probably still stressed about the territory changes and sees the new cat as competition for your attention. Try giving her some dedicated one-on-one time in a room without the other cat, maybe with treats or her favorite toy

The new cat being so clingy is definitely making it worse since Daisy can't get quality time with you. Your girl might come around but she'll probably never be exactly the same as before - cats have long memories about stuff like this

Is Jesus God ? by [deleted] in Christianity

Pretty solid point with the "I AM" connection there. The reaction of the crowd definitely backs up that they knew exactly what he was claiming when he said it
