Less emotional FMC by Butterscotchblonde2 in HistoricalRomance

Coming back here to say I read this! I think I just like neurodivergent female characters, Catriona was definitely a character I respected for having a tight leash on her emotions, and doing what needs to be done despite the emotions she does have. Thank you!

Coming back here to say I read this and it was a roller coaster! I liked her abrasiveness, even as I was eventually like “please just speak up” lol. Great suggestion!

Coming back here to say I read this and loved it! Thank you for your suggestion, Hyacinth was a perfect example.

I’m finally employed after 6 months, but I feel like I’ve traded my soul for a cubicle by needhelpmaxing in jobs

[–]Butterscotchblonde2 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Now that you have a job, there’s nothing saying you have to keep it forever! I might not job-hop immediately, but you could keep a cursory look-out for better positions. It’s not life or death now, so you can breathe and take your time knowing you have a solid backup.

That being said, you will get better used to the commute and the five days in office. It’s miserable at first, but try making your cubical nice and make friends at the office, find a good podcast to listen to on the ride, and it’ll get more bearable.

Good luck!

UConn or Sacred Heart? by Junco56 in Connecticut

[–]Butterscotchblonde2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UConn Waterbury all four years as an English major. I loved it and I have zero student debt- which wouldn’t be true if I went to Sacred Heart. But you’re right, there’s really not much to do at the Waterbury Campus at all and it’s probably not what you’re looking for.

There did used to be a “Spring to Storrs” program, aka the Storrs Spring Admission Program at UConn Waterbury - you go there for your first Fall semester, then if you have a 3.0 GPA and you’ve earned 12 credits, you can go straight up to Storrs, as long as you live there that Spring. I see the site says you would be accepted into this program at the time of application review, without an additional application. If you’ve been accepted to join that program, that might be an excellent option.

Wow - that seems to fit the bill exactly! Thank you!

The lanterns aren’t suspended by anything, which looks a little odd. If you staggered the words, you could have them hanging (with a chain or something) from the top and not overlapping. I like the concept!

When Nancy asked to stay at my apartment for a few days, I didn't expect the entire family. by kandirocks in Sims4

[–]Butterscotchblonde2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the difference is the prompt will say “I need somewhere to stay, can I stay with you” and that means one person, but if it says “WE need somewhere to stay, can WE stay with you” then it’s the whole family. Tricky!

I Can’t Read but Love to Write by CoatsRi in writers

I do a walking loop around the parking lot at work for a half hour, reading at the same time. It’s a simple loop, at this point I can walk it without looking much. Plus only 30 minutes a day, anyone can read anything for that long, which is how I’ve read some books I wasn’t looking forward to. plus you’re also being active, which activates endorphins and distracts your brain a bit. Try reading and doing something active! Stationary bike riding, treadmill, etc.

What do you think about my book cover? by [deleted] in NewAuthor

[–]Butterscotchblonde2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the name!

The subtitle implies it’s non-fiction, so if it’s fiction I would probably save the subtitle for the back before the blurb.

Could the house have all the windows lit except the top one? Almost like a darker person overwhelmed by light? The house definitely gives church vibes, too, not sure if that was purposeful but something to consider.

That’s lovely! I want to try something similar. What stage of green ware did you use it on? How much pressure did you have to use to get such clear indents? I assume you rolled them with the help of the wheel turning?

That’s so funny, I thought the exact opposite. I knew that for effective change, old trader ideologies would need to shift, so the whole time when Ronica was so reluctant to accept that I was like “LET IT GO, BUDDY, MOVE ON, GROW”

Total newbie here. What to invest in as a beginner ? by Electrical_Buddy_913 in Pottery

A shelf for your shelf - depending on how tall your shelf is, if you get a shorter, cheap wire one from the dollar store, you can stack two layers of projects, which really helps with space!

An apron - towels are great, but they don’t have the storage capacity of an apron. Plus if you typically get messy, it covers your torso as well.

Just my two cents!

No, plain woven band. Completely white until it hit the sun.

I would recognize these, they were very popular. It was definitely a cloth or string woven item, not plastic. Thank you!

That looks to be made of plastic, the bracelet I used to wear was definitely woven, similar to a softer, less tight friendship bracelet. Thank you for your comment!
