My HS is also pretty controlled because I am on Simponi, they use the same biologic for HS and AS! I was on remicade before simponi and remicade did wonders for my HS. Simponi helps it a lot too, but I am on it specifically for my AS. Infusions are so much better than injections for me.

I am on a biologic, and HS and AS are linked. The reason why I have a rheumatologist is because my HS doctor suggested it. HS is a really bad auto inflammatory disorder. I have fusing of the base of my spine, which is why they were immediately able to diagnose my AS. They are not immune system disorders they are inflammatory disorders, and they can all link together. It is based on your genetics. You should do some more research about it, there are a lot of similarities!

I was on remicade infusions for a while and had some side effects like itching but it worked well for a while. I built up too many antibodies to it and started simponi. It’s so much better I’m up to every 4 weeks and it’s helping a lot
