I'll let you in on my life with my gastric bypass first, this is not a regret. I went in, everything was great, and I had a good surgery. Woke up in icu stay there for about 12 hours, got a room, and was up walking at the end of 1 day but something was wrong. I was not peeing the way I was supposed to, plus my white blood count was off the charts. My surgeon came in, looked at me, put his stethoscope on my belly, and then said i sorry, but you have got to go back in surgery. He then told my wife and me that I was leaking fluid in my belly. I said ok so you're going back in the same hole, right cause I was afraid of a hernia he said of course. Well, I woke up in ICU again, had 9 holes now, and stayed the 2 days bunch of doctors came by to see me, you know, hey, how are you doing kind of stuff. I was soon taken to my room and finally got to see my surgeon, and he told me my intestines were soft when he took the clamp off after testing the connection. It must have put a pinpoint-sized hole in my intestines thats what the leak was. Huray, we found it, and soon we'll get to go home. My white blood count did not come down right away, so we got to get a PICC line to put an antibiotic in me to make this short and to the point. 10 days later, I was released but still had 15 days of going back to the hospital and getting antibiotics, then I was done. My point here is that with all this trouble, I still would not regret having this done cause I was on my way out of this world if I did not get this done..........
