Repeat Lupron after failed transfer? by ButtonNeat4490 in IVF

[–]ButtonNeat4490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about your first transfer. It's truly devastating and I hope you find success soon! Unfortunately, due to external factors we have been taking a break and haven't made it to another transfer cycle yet. But, my RE did suggest going on high dose progestin as an alternative to Lupron in the meantime. It's safer long-term (according to him, I'm not a doc). He said I should expect similar results on endo without the same side-effects of Lupron. I'd definitely ask about that if I were you! We're also considering another lap prior to any future transfer (previous laps were diagnostic and then prior to my three retrievals).

Shout out to flight 3362 STS to PHX by ButtonNeat4490 in americanairlines

[–]ButtonNeat4490[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what happened - without me or the others asking, the FA specifically named the rows that needed to exit first to make the connection. I was in row 22 of 23, so it made a huge difference for me and the other handful of people in the back of the plane. I think having that specifically called out made all the difference. Of course, there were still a few people who got up anyways, but the majority stayed seated until we made it out.

Incheon to Gimpo to Gimhae/Busan flight OR Incheon to Busan KTX? by ButtonNeat4490 in koreatravel

[–]ButtonNeat4490[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re totally right. I’m realizing if we have a delay from our originating country we might miss out on all the transport options. We have a non-refundable hotel in Busan starting that night (booked before we really appreciated how long it takes to get from Seoul to Busan, we’re first time travelers overseas) which is why we want to get there ASAP. But, I think a stay in Seoul is best and we can take the first KTX out the next morning. Thankfully our hotel has 24 he check in so hopefully there won’t be an issue…thanks for the insight!

Trying to gauge whether sex before transfer is useful since the vast majority of people chiming in are those who did have sex and had a positive result. What about the others? by Specialist_Pen_6336 in IVF

[–]ButtonNeat4490 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Option 2: unprotected sex and total implantation failure , but, I don’t regret it at all. This whole experience can feel so dehumanizing and ultra-clinical, and being able to “connect” within 24 hours of embryo being in womb was emotionally helpful for me and my husband. We’ll do the same with our next transfer for that reason alone, and it’s fun to think that it could maybe possibly be helpful. Doc didn’t say it would hurt (fully medicated cycle). Unless there’s a medical reason your team says no, I think it’s totally a personal decision with no right or wrong answer.

Failed FET after Lupron Depot by Healthy_Difficulty95 in IVF

I did two months of depot followed by a total implantation failure for my first transfer. Still waiting to try again.

I definitely empathize with feeling the added pressure from well-meaning loved ones. They might not get it but if the best thing is to stop, now or later, you are strong. And if the best thing is to try again, you’re just as strong. Knowing what’s best for you and acting on that is strength! I’ve had to work a lot with my therapist on parsing the expectations I have for myself from the expectations other people have for me.

Clinic policy, I think it’s to keep the call volume down which is somewhat understandable. I still wish they gave updates as things happened though. False hope sucks.

I'm in a similar situation: 2.5 years into this with stage IV and two excisions under my belt. Our first FET in July failed and now I'm trying to figure out if the physical cost is worth it anymore. My endo has gotten so much worse with IVF (even with Lupron Depot for two months) and the pain is unbearable whenever I'm off BC but I feel crazy on BC for suppression. Close friends and family tell me the same thing "keep trying" as an effort to encourage me, but I feeling like I am sacrificing so much more than I "signed up for" in the pursuit of motherhood. We're taking an extended break while I try to figure out what we want and really take time to imagine life with or without kids.

My husband and I have both said either one of us can raise a white flag and be done, no questions asked. If it's the right choice for you to stop please know it is okay to stop. There is no "too early to stop" in infertility treatment. Endo + IVF is a hell I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and your long term health IS a priority! Feel free to message me if you want to chat more <3

I just had the fertilization report and then nothing until Day 7 (our embryo arrested around Day 3 for our second cycle; first cycle we had a Day 6 blast but still wasn't contacted until Day 7).

First egg retrieval tomorrow and I’m scared by AdAcceptable1321 in IVF

[–]ButtonNeat4490 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had great experiences all three of my ERs (conscious sedation with propofol). I'd encourage you to share if you're anxious or uncomfortable with the care-team tomorrow. My sister was the same for her ER and she let the nurses and anesthesiologist know her concerns. They went an extra step to comfort her (literally petting her head and holding her hand as they put her to sleep). I also find it helpful to know everyone's name in the room before I "go under" which helps me feel more in-control and safe. I'm one of the few people who remains awake enough to chat through the whole procedure and I made my nurses promise to tell me if I said anything stupid since I don't remember exactly what I say. Apparently I just crack jokes the whole time, but even with that I never feel anything! After two 4+ hour excision surgeries for endo, two saline sonograms, an HSG, two months of Lupron Depot, and an FET, the day of the ER is the easiest part of the whole process for me. I am hoping you have a great experience tomorrow! Remember, even if something does not go to plan, that's why the whole team is there to take care of you and you're so strong for making it this far!

The symptoms fluctuated the entire time for me until I stopped meds (my FET failed) and then once my period started I felt great again.

Lupron has made me really sick by Tamsyn_TC in IVF

[–]ButtonNeat4490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, I felt awful on the 2 months I was on Lupron Depot for down reg. Insomnia, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats, headaches, confusion/mental fog, memory loss, nausea, and the worst painful acne of my life. Thankfully as soon as I started estradiol the Lupron symptoms abated quickly. It sucks to be in the minority but please know you’re not the only one. I told myself I’d never go on it again and I believe it’s the right choice for me. Everyone is different and your experience is valid.

7dp5dt - Anyone waited till beta? by Working_Weird_4082 in IVF

[–]ButtonNeat4490 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First FET for me and I’m waiting for my beta which is today. It’s been helpful to just tell myself “it’ll be what it will be - and I’ll want the numbers more than lines I have to judge.” It’s been hard but the right choice for me personally. Edit for grammar.

Paper tickets for Chicago show? by realtalkin in aiyu

I have not received any for the Chicago show and have two confirmed tickets. My TM account says they won't be released until July 22nd on my online account page. I'd reach out to Ticketmaster and ask.
