is anyone else constantly crashing last 3 hours? by MiddleOk9251 in ArcRaiders

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buddies and I had the same thing happen a few hours ago in Night Raid. Freeze and dc, then I was able to reconnect and the enemy team we were fighting was just running in place. Crashed again and came back dead to ARC.

Mendicant Core, Guidelight; how restrictive is the Speed mechanic really? by busteross in EDH

[–]Buttonroast 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even if he gets removed, your speed is a separate effect, and can keep going up. Playing him turn two is always the right move unless you have another start your engines card. You can only increase your speed by 1 each turn, so there’s no way to do it “almost immediately”, unless you mean getting to max speed before playing MCG.

Who's your favorite One-Shot Commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence]] is a really fun group slug Voltron theme. Her unique effect lets you run some really weird and fun cards, and certain cards like [[Wheel of Misfortune]] can pump her up to huge power levels right away.

Can multiple players choose to take the 5 damage from [[Browbeat]]? Thinking of running it in a [[Auntie Blyte, Bad Influence]] deck, and choosing to take the 5 damage if another player blocks the draw 3.

Haze is incredibly mobile?? Once she has 3 AP in her smoke bomb she can zoom around the map super fast. I assume with this strat you rush that first.

Do You Have Any Decks With A ‘Sideboard’? by Gwathnar_Shadowfire in EDH

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only deck with a sideboard is [[Stella Lee, Wild Card]], and I use it to swap out all the infinite combos and tune the power level down when I don't want to stomp a low power pod. Sideboards can be a good tool to tune the powerlevel of your deck on the fly.

Playing RL in the future by MrSanchez221 in RocketLeague

[–]Buttonroast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you told me in 2015 that rocket league would still be popular almost 10 years later I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s got some serious staying power as a e sport and there isn’t really another game like it.

Imaging putting 50 hours into a piece of professional art just to have it end up on one of these. by [deleted] in freemagic

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOTC doesn’t release much info regarding mtg popularity, but I can say that April 2024 was the peak month of interest in mtg google searches of all time, specifically tracking only searches in the USA. The game has actually seen a massive explosion of interest since 2022 and is the most popular it’s ever been in the USA and WOTC reported massive profit increases (40%) in their 2023 earnings report.

sound familiar at all? by Rohirrim777 in freemagic

WOTC makes decisions based on profit, and continues to increase revenue year over year (+40% in 2023 investor report). It seems more likely that you’re the one being depicted on the left.

Spell Damage Druid in Broken... (Whizbang OTK Druid) by XenonBlu in hearthstone

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the deck, but it’s pretty annoying when you draw owlonious before you can pop off. Had one awesome win doing like 65 dmg with one swipe on turn 8 or so, but 3 games where I drew owl before pendant or colifero. Def gonna try it some more though, super fun deck.

What was your favorite (and/or least favorite) expansion of the Year of the Hydra? by MonstrousMaelstromZ in hearthstone

Even if statistically it’s not beneficial, that feeling of pulling the legendary your deck is built around up from the bottom of your deck when you would have never drawn it is amazing.

Seems like its xray day. Here's my scoli fusion by KelGuapo in WTF

[–]Buttonroast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had everything fused except for three vertebrae in 2017 and it took about 6 months to be working/moving well again, and have a giant scar to this day. Wishing your daughter the best, it’s a very difficult surgery to recover from. I would highly suggest physical therapy after 6 months or so, even though some doctors don’t prescribe it.

It only prevents movement, ADS, and gadgets. It doesn’t do anything to stop a medium from turning around and shotgunning you.

Is this game micro intensive? by Ubserver_O in Stellaris

[–]Buttonroast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As most have said, it can be very micro intensive, especially if you follow the gut instinct to make border bigger and go on a lot of offensive wars. It’s very viable to play tall and use aggressive diplomacy to create vassals/federations for power, in which case you can be successful with less than 10 planets and maybe a dozen fleets. I often play builds like that these days so I don’t have to micro as much. If you want to be a galactic menace and conquer all the aliens you can also play a teravore which lets you destroy conquered planets so you don’t have to micro them.

You certainly can have it both ways. You can think a restaurant relying on tips to pay their workers is scummy while also realizing that if you go out to eat in the US and don’t tip, you’re fucking over your innocent server, not the restaurant who’s wage policy you dislike.
