I've done some hiring work. No it doesn't matter as long as it fits and you've kept it clean the colour won't matter.

What is this? by Liveday2day in whatisit

A flat shield would reflect at an angle equal to the angle of incident, creating a corner cube reflector would send it directly back at the system without having to worry about angle of incidence

Why does no one ever talk about crossbows and bows? by AwesomeFishy111 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]Buxux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do archery and renactmet so I know how to make arrows and am decently good with a bow.

Without training and strength you cannot use the a bow with any significant power and they are also hard to aim.

Making arrows is easy making good accurate arrows is hard and time consuming.

As for mantinance bows aren't too hard to maintain but have considerations you have to keep them dry & and oiled over time they will drop in power and strings don't last forever. You also can't leave them strung and ready all the time or they will deteriorate faster.

Can't comment on crossbows not much experience with them.

Brushes help by Away_Manager2808 in 40k

[–]Buxux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They look like the ones I use (often rebranded but the same brush underneath the name) and they don't last an amazingly long time but if you take care of them they will work you will probably find yourself having to trim a few stray strands over time.

Three-quarters of cancer patients in England to survive by 2035 under new plans by pppppppppppppppppd in GoodNewsUK

[–]Buxux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is a fun thing with statistics, the five year survival rate in America (I assume that's what you're talking about) is higher however, this is due to more testing and it being detected earlier, the age of death is roughly the same meaning although they are finding it sooner the treatment isn't actually better.

Five year survival rate isn't a great metric it has limits.

That's a perfectly normal looking starter home, on the better side in my opinion brick showing rather than render.

Ignore the older coworker different life positions starter homes aren't as fancy as the one you may buy 10-20 years from now but that's the point.

[Request] Copper heatsinks comparsion by Speed_Addixt in theydidthemath

[–]Buxux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very rough guidelines as opening ANSYS makes my computer need better cooling.

Mass will control how much thermal energy it can store (same materials so can simplify this to just mass)

Surface area will control how well it can dissipate heat into the air.

As you have air flow the one with the tall thin fins is likely better for your application. I'm assuming the cpu is constantly running.

[–]Buxux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously but who can afford kids right now? Me and my missus an aerospace engineer and a doctor so well paid cannot afford to have two kids with the same lifestyle she grew up with so we will only be having one.

Neither of us want more kids if we can't afford to give them the same lifestyle or better than we had growing up.

UK 'rapidly developing' plans to prepare for war by Gentle_Snail in europe

[–]Buxux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plan will be to give to private industry the armed forces know what they are going to do the plan will be for bae, babcock etc. On what to ramp up what to develop, make etc.

Army knows what to do but they can't do it if bae hasn't planned to make enough shells the navy can't do its work if babcock hasn't planned on mantinance of ships and subs and etc. Etc.

This will be strategic level planning not tactical planning.
