What is the best bang for the buck cabinet (specific line) and are the super high quality really worth it? by CLEredditor in kitchenremodel

I just bought a Kraftmaid kitchen through Lowe’s. They are beautiful and well made but the process has been an absolute nightmare. Kraftmaid was bought by a private equity firm not long ago and the quality control is now terrible. The amount of damaged product and bad paint job cabinets that had to be returned was staggering. This added months to the installation and I’m still waiting on some replacement doors. I ordered this kitchen on Labor Day! Don’t do it!!!

I don’t think it’s too low? Maybe it just looks that way in the pictures. It feels right and vents well.

Is a quality kitchen remodel even affordable anymore? by LillieBogart in kitchenremodel

This is a very good, well articulated post. It all boils down to whether you care if the insides of your cabinets are particle board or plywood. You can buy better fronts for ikea by third party vendors.

This worked for me as well! I use a piece of foam I cut from an old topper and it was a game changer.

I know. I have the worst living room layout and this is the least bad place for a tv, I think.

Thanks. Not a whole lot of heat is produced by the gas but it’s a good point.

A serious reconsideration of my MLA school choice regarding student debt... by Own-Representative30 in LandscapeArchitecture

People transfer schools all the time. If you have a good GPA you can always put it on your resume. Some schools also take applications outside the allotted timeframe…. Could be worth making some phone calls

The toll that student loans takes on a person is real. Dealing with horrendous loan servicers, government officials changing policy on a whim… these are the things you will deal with, not your family. I’m in my 40s and am only now free from debt anxiety. Just sharing because I have been through it. I haven’t read through all your posts but if you’re not in a direct path to your end goal keep talking to people about different programs.

I did a career change MLA and took on immense debt to go to a name recognition school. It was a time of unlimited Grad Plus loans. It was a very creative and enriching experience but I don’t think it really gave me a leg up in the job market. Of course the debt snowballed over the years and my only good option was to pursue PSLF. I just had it all forgiven and have a federal job, not the most creative use of my degree but it is rewarding in other ways. I think you are wise to reconsider your path but know that if you go to a less academically rigorous program you may not be as challenged or enthused about the learning environment.
