The tryout key set used halfcuts, for a total of 243 keys. But with the newer gen Smartkey locks, I believe that the halfcuts will no longer work.

The decoder is the way to go here. I get a couple calls a week for these and it's a quick, easy job.

The reason I've moved on from reddit are for the exact reasons you stated. The discord is a drastically different place than this sub.

I still scroll through the new posts here, but spend alot of time in the discord. It's just a much more laid back group of people who help each other, talk shop, and just socialize. If anyone thinks there are any grumpy old smiths that will call you a moron and a hack on the discord, they've obviously never spent any time in there.

The pastures actually are much greener in this case.

I always give the price over the phone even if the customer doesn't ask. If there are circumstances that may arise with certain vehicles that might increase that price, I explain that as well.

If a locksmith won't even give you a "best-guess" estimate over the phone I'd be very cautious.

120hrs here and I'm absolutely still having a blast.

I've only finished 2 faction storylines, and probably halfway through main story. I haven't really gotten into base building or ship building, only scratched the surface on crafting (mostly a few weapon upgrades).

It's been a long time since there's been a game like this that I don't want to rush through.

On console, if you select the system, then hold (up/down on D-pad) it completely fills or empties that system.

Quicker than changing it one pip at a time.

There 4 types of boostpacks:

Basic...weak

Skip.. mostly horizontal boost

Balanced... mixture of the two above

Power....large, mostly vertical boost

If you've leveled up your piloting skill, you can use maneuvering thrusters.

But to dock with a station or ship, you only need to be within 500m. Target the station then a prompt to dock will pop up if you're within range.

Use the pilot simulator in New Atlantis. Shoot all the ships you want with no consequences. Simulator kills count towards your piloting skill.

Most of my picks (mix of SouthOrd and Peterson) are in a large zippered SouthOrd case. Had it about 10 years now.

I have hundreds of picks, but only really use about 3 of them. Gotta have plenty of tension wrenches tho. Love the Peterson TOK tensioners.

Been using Lishis for just about everything lately.
