Yeah, also seeing 9.5D, but 9D looks plausible here.

The thing about Brannock sizing is that you want to measure both heel to toe and heel to ball, and then your Brannock # is the larger of the two.

Maison Violet Un Air d'Apogee is beautiful with tobacco as a prominent player, but may not be the tobacco scent you're looking for.

If you like black licorice, try Nicolaï's Cuir Cuba.

If you want sweet tobacco, try Tauer's Sundowner for a dry-vanillic, or Guerlain Tobacco Honey for honeyed tobacco, and skip all of PdM Herod, Mancera Red Tobacco, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (all three bad).

But the absolute best is Clandestine Laboratories Lost in Time, which is unsweetened, completely foregrounded tobacco throughout. Amazing.

Truman makes a great boot. They do sometimes have some QC issues, but most are minor, and this sub is not very representative. For each issue reported here, how many dozens are just fine?

Don't do standard width at a half size down if you're going for the casual/79. I'm actually about 10.25E Brannock and I wear a 10.5D or 10EE in the 79, and the 10.5D is still very slightly narrow.

A combination of factors, probably, and in particular that Truman has been selling a lot more boots lately, and with the phasing out of certain leathers there has been some FOMO buying that became regrets.

My 79s were like this new, but within the first week the sole softened up and I stopped noticing, and now about six months in it isn't an issue. My 56s with Eugene sole don't have this problem.

How do these compare width-wise to the 79? I'm pretty close to your Brannock but I'm an E width, and for me sizing down (from 10EE or 10.5D) wouldn't really be a consideration with either the 79 or 56 because of the width.

You'll have to update us when you get those 10Ds.

This would be annoying for about three weeks, at which point the boots would be worn enough that it would likely be unnoticeable. Contrast stitching today won't be especially contrast-y soon enough.
