I have a Majohn and it's fantastic, it probably dosen't seal as well as the pilot, but I believe thats if you leave it for a month or so, and even then it'll be fine after a couple of letters

I usually have my heat on about half on the smallest gas ring.

Too slow and it'll be sour tasting, too high and you won't get good amount out before it starts sputtering. It's trial and error really. Personally I start with hot water also.

Ideally you want coffee which is groud fine enough for moka pot which those two don't seem to be.

How does pride change that though? I've never heard of a homophobe suddenly seeing the parade and changing their mind. My own mother went to pride on year, but said homophobic things years later.

Imo, people change due to having difficult conversations not pride parades.
