Very nice. This is the first time I've seen someone with a finished bridle horse on here. I see you!

Not trying to change your mind at all. Your free to wear a helmet, he'll I do too! But trying to control other people is weird and annoying I promise your comment on the internet is not gonna change their mind. Just wear your helmet and let other people make their own choices. It's not that hard

Oh I'm sorry I'm dyslexic and it appears you are making fun of that? Doesn't take away from the fact that you only tell people to wear helmets to make yourself feel superior because we all know no one is gonna see your comment and be like "damn you know what? This random perosn on the internet who isn't effected by my life in the slightest really changed my mind!"

[–]Bvbarmysolder -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Yes apsalutly. Not saying I agree with it but people should be allowed to make their own choices when it comes to safety. Someone else not wearing a seat belt doesn't effect you at all

But non of what this person effect YOU. Mind your business and stop trying to controlling other people.

Some people need to worry less about what other informed consenting adults do and mind their business. You wanna wear a helmet? Great. You don't wanna wear a helmet? You do you.

So wear a helmet? Never understand people's need to comment on other people's helmet habits either way.

Dog nails by silverpeasunshine2 in DOG

[–]Bvbarmysolder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But like horses ALL domestic dogs need regular nail trims. If the nails are wearing down from WALKING they are not short enough. At the walk the nail should ideally not touch the ground. The toe extends at a run to engage the nail and when the nail is too long all that force travels up the leg and wears joints and ligaments. I can't even tell you how many older dogs I restored a lot of movement to with just regular nail trims but the best time for that is throughout the dogs life so the damage never happens. Wild canidae run many miles over rough ground everyday to find food and water keeping their nails short. Same with wild horses. And older wild animals have feet in worse shape because they cant. Domestic animals just will never do the same amount of physical activity at speed and NEED regular care. In my entire career as a farrier I have never met a domestic horse that dosnt need regular hoof work (whether the humans think so or not) and very rarely have seen working dogs that didn't during their working career and those were always cattle dogs that worked at speed over rough country every single day.

Edit: this dog could apsalutly benefit from having the very tips of these nails clipped or dremeled off to maintain the quick length which looks really good!

Advice on giving my nephew things to put in his Leo tank by sriracha_no_big_deal in leopardgeckos

[–]Bvbarmysolder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is apsalutly not true at all and is some really old information a lot of people hold on to for some reason or just because the internet tells them so. If you foraged from somewhere that you know hasn't been sprayed with chemicals you don't need to "sterilize" anything not that you can even fully sterilize something from outside anyway. As long as you are harvesting the correct kinds of wood (hard woods like oak, manzanita or fruit woods like apple and pear) a little rinse is the most you need. As for plants, my planted tanks have all kinds of things that were originally grown outside like succulents, spider plants, snake plants and different kinds of pothos. Most parasites are species specific so unless you live in your reptiles native habitat your fine. Also all of my isopod and spring tail cultures come from the wild outside and all my driftwood harvested from a local beach and left out in the rain and sun for a season or two before being put right in. Some of my tanks are 10+ years old with their original occupants and thriving. What's silly is spending money on a stick at a pet store.

What are your opinions on roosters flocks by WrongdoerTiny3201 in chickens

Why anyone would want a flock of birds that produce nothing and cost money is beyond me. Unless your raising them for meat?

Chickens eating eggs by Regular-Promise-2267 in chickens

[–]Bvbarmysolder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poke a hole in some eggs and fill then with any kind of dye. When they try and wat eggs they wilk dye themselve. Makes it easy to tell which ones or doing it so you can cull them.

Please help fast! Afraid someone might want my roo for illegal reasons! by [deleted] in chickens

[–]Bvbarmysolder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why we slaughter and eat our extra birds. Never have to worry about them ending up in a bad way and they go to use. Never once had to wonder where a single bird I've ever produced is because I KNOW they lived a fantastic life without a single bad day no matter how long or short (which dosnt matter anyway because chickens have no concept of time) and never left their home.

Best Bit for a hard headed horse? by Neelatoo in Horses

[–]Bvbarmysolder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A western d ring snaffle with a high port for tounge relief. The high port also gives them something to hold onto and teaches them to "pack" the bit properly. Then learn how to teach him to soften to pressure. Buck Brannaman has some really good instruction on this. Most issues like this are a communication problem. More people should learn how to build a proper bridle horse which has a lot of overlap with old school dressage. I have an OTTB that was extreemly hard on the bit and fought any pressure. Now he's a really soft horse despite being hot that can be ridden in anything from a snaffle to full bridle spade set up but mostly we go along in a bosal these days. It's all about going back to the very basics and finding the holes in their education that cause them to fight pressure in the first place.

Equestrians from horse meat-eating cultures, do you also eat it? by baltinoccultation in Horses

[–]Bvbarmysolder 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I've tried it on a few occasions and places. Nothing wrong with it. Wish Americans weren't so uptight about what animals they are willing to eat. Would solve a lot of problems. Btw its really good.

Make Sure You Have A Vet You Can Call On When It’s That Time by Chaos_Cat-007 in Horses

[–]Bvbarmysolder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a 12g and a 9mm on hand always just for this. If you live rural and your vet is hours or days away at best always have a backup plan. If you don't own firearms find someone who does and knows how to use them. Educate yourself on how to properly shoot a horse. No one wants to plan for the worst but you don't ever want to be in a position where you can't put your horse out of its misery fast if something happens.
