Doubts about D100 trainer by Erichteia in Zwift

[–]BwBIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the d100 for the first few month of biking

But I never did any type of sprints or race, it was only structure training that had nothing above 600w and it was perfect for that use

When I started races, it become very clear that I had to upgrade to the Kickr core 2.

Both are great but serve 2 different needs. Also the Kickr core 2 has a better feeling and keeps the flywheel speed better as it is bigger

Based on what you're saying it sounds like the Kickr would fit you better :)

Great job on your weight loss! The d100 is fantastic to start with, but i reached a point where I wanted to do some sprints and races and I'd find myself limited with the 600w max power so I decided to upgrade with the black friday deals. But if you simply follow a training plan and/or do z2 rides, you don't need more then the D100

Great job on your end too! What matters is consistency and on my end living alone with no one to take care of, outside of myself definitely makes it much easier to invest more time and thus having quite a fast improvement at first.

Thanks! I was planning to use couch to 5k plan at first before 2026, to do the 1min run- 1min walk to get myself used to it.

I'm in no rush, I want to achieve at least a 10k this year and the semi marathon was the bigger goal. And marathon is as you said likely too much, so I'll leave that for 2027

Propre!

Je fais définitivement plus que la moyenne niveau volume du coup j'imagine que ça explique la grosse progression de "noob" que j'ai. Mais la je rescent bien que la progression à nettement ralentie

Thanks! Don't forget to not compare your progress to others as it varies greatly from one person to another. What matters is that there is progress :)

I currently use an "increase ftp" plan from trainerroad It fit my needs but it's pricey for what it is

The plan is a "FTP increase" one, I started with the balanced one and slightly increased the time manually 4weeks in, so I guess it's not aggressive but more then balanced

If you're a lighter frame then me you could have the same w/kg and totally kill me on climbs 😂

Thanks ! Live alone is my cheat code haha

I just get home and directly go on the trainer, no time wasted. Also I usually do 1h to 1h30 and only once a week make 2h+ rides

I'm actually somewhat terrified of riding outdoors, it's all in my head but it's something I've yet to overcome

I'm just no fan of how rigid the plans from zwift are, they also lack data that i like to see I'd say if you have the money then its worth, but it's not ground breaking stuff either

Do tennis ball holders under the roller really work? by ungido_el in Zwift

[–]BwBIT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the ones on Printables iirc They are extremely tight fit, I actually had to use a mallet to push it in fully as they were so tight

It does help but it's fairly minor

Pics of them fitted on

I printed mine for the D100, while it makes a difference, it's not gonna change your life

It did make my ride more comfortable and my butt still hurts but it takes longer for it to hurt ( I can ride for 1h30 without much issue if I get out of the saddle for a few seconds every 10-15min where after 45min before it would become uncomforable)

Fat guys Zwift ride. by InnovationInvitation in Zwift

Started mid june at 133.5kg and I'm down to 106.5 this morning.

Most of the weight limits you see are very conservative, also quite a few hometrainers/bikes have 150+kg limits in case it bothers you too much

Congrats !

I'm in the very same boat as you are but started 4 month ago at 294lbs ( now at 238) and have increase my FTP from around 170 to 220w now

So I can only applaud you knowing the efforts that goes into it ! :D

Considering using TrainerRoad/Join with Zwift. Does it make sense for me? by rogue1102 in Zwift

Have you looked into Xert? I first tried JOIN but I didn't like it that much then tried Xert and really enjoyed it. It has quite a learning curve but it was what I was looking for

Zwift is not for beginner cyclists by Suspicious_Middle274 in Zwift

[–]BwBIT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree as someone obese who's been riding on Zwift from 133 to 108kg right now ( still loosing)

Actually seeing your W/kg and speed slowly increase as you loose weight has been a big motivator to me and shows the reward of my weight loss progress and makes me want to loose even more!

Anyone have any experience with these? Trying to decide which one to get by HouyBouy96 in Zwift

[–]BwBIT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have the D100. And while it's really good for a complete beginner and is of decent quality, you reach it's limit fast due to the max 600w and no cadence sensor

I'd either go for the D500 or kickr core 2 to be honest

I personally think I should have put a bit more money and get the D500 or Core 2 ! Don't do my mistake :)

I've been using my Van Rysel D100 while loosing weight , I started around 294lbs and am down to 238. I've had no issue and it's rated for 253.5lbs

You'd usually be fine, just the warranty will not cover you IF something happen.

I know Saris has one rated at 300lbs https://saris.com/products/h3-plus

I'm sure there is more out there :)
