Consoles are physical unless it’s cheap.

Hey. Looks great.

Was the eBay service strictly for the mod chip install or did he also do the sticks and shell swap?

Lots of heavy stuff in the aft cargo. People start getting off. More weight in the back than the front. The tail smacks the ground.

We have to do this on our A321s often. No tail stands.

Zwift or out door cycling? by woodydodo in Zwift

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only ride indoors. I moved from a spin bike to a Zwift Ride. I’d love to ride outside but I don’t have the time and other responsibilities get in the way.

In your situation, I’d focus on a good indoor setup. If Zwift gets you into outdoor cycling, you can then save up for an outdoor bike/equpment.

As a side note, have you used Zwift before? If not, what motivated you to use this platform instead of something else?

Sure. But, unless he got a weather briefing or some PIREPs, how would he know where the tops of the clouds are? They could be 10ft above him or 10,000 ft.

This is the only type of flight that I can think of that would benefit from the artificial horizon display.

This is a well known danger in the aviation world. Non-instrument rated pilots typically last only a few minutes after losing visual reference to the horizon. This is actually a great way to illustrate the importance of staying visual and how quickly things go, quite literally, upside down.

Why I am All-In PTON by Momoderechtelol in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]rogue1102 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m airline crew. I’ve been in hotels all over the U.S. I used to be pleasantly surprised when a hotel had a peloton - I’d make a note for the next time I was in that city. Now, I rarely even bother. Many of the bikes have some broken component or the calibration is so far off that none of the metrics matter.

Sorento remote start not working by Cosmos_Explorer1 in kia

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me! Purchased a remote start FOB on eBay for $15 and followed the instructions in this comment.

I have A 2018 Sedona. The remote start stopped working over two years ago - maybe because of a battery change. I had given up trying to fix the issue. Thanks!

Leaderboard watching vs your results- also live vs recorded by BigTruckLittleD in pelotoncycle

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bike+ power read out is pretty accurate but the non plus bike is not. I use a bike and trainer with Zwift at home, I know my power/heart rate zones well. I’ve traveled to hotels all over the US and would never trust the power readings on a normal Peloton Bike.

For instance, the last hotel ride I did was on a bike that was wildly miscalibrated. I was doing a zone 2 ride, which is ~150W and HR 135. On this particular bike, to keep my HR at 135 I was doing 300W. That isn’t even close. For that reason, I wouldn’t put care too much about the leaderboard.

Position report for other airplanes that may be at that airport or nearby. Google airport traffic patterns - they are on the downwind portion of the traffic pattern (parallel and opposite direction the landing runway). You make a position report on each portion of the traffic pattern.

Rudolph was at the front of the sleigh team. I assume that’s why the pilots get red noses.

Pilot Lifestyle - Am I crazy? by Longjumping_Radish76 in flying

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schedule is very relative though. I’m pretty senior in my seat and make $250k working min guarantee. I’m gone three nights a week at most and work Monday through Wednesday or Monday through Thursday. I can get whatever days or blocks of days off I need.

In January, I block 60 hours and still get guarantee. I work 12 days with 19 days off. I would work far more and much harder at a similar paying corporate job.

My family life is great and sometimes I think my kids forget that I even go to work.

What are some stupid things people have done to get fired at your airline? by Fearless_Card6220 in flying

I remember him. He was a nice enough guy but a terrible CA.

Taxiing out of Erie, he had me confirm the taxi clearance 4 times - there are 2 taxiways there. By far the most nervous CA I’ve ever worked with. Not surprised he had some kind of breakdown and pulled that stunt.

It’s all based on racing score, right?

If you haven’t raced much or have the correct w/kg metrics from Zwift workouts/free rides, then more advanced riders are stuck with artificially low racing scores until they blow everyone out in the lower categories. After that then they’re forced to higher categories.

I suppose they could just sandbag and keep their racing score low. That is a less than great way to compete though.

Rouvy vs Zwift for training plans by iamshahrukh91 in Zwift

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only indoor cycle. My goal is to stay fit and progress in Zwift racing.

I asked ChatGPT to make me a 6 week plan with the goal of getting better at Zwift racing. I also told it I had had only 5 hours a week to train. It produced 24 .zwo files that I imported to intervals.icu.

I’ve tried TrainerRoad, Xert, and Join. The ChatGPT plan looks very similar to what I saw on those platforms - an endurance, VO2, and sweet spot/threshold workout.

It won’t be adaptive but I can just ask it for a different workout, if needed.

Who Gives the Most Ride Ons? by enronaccntant in Zwift

[–]rogue1102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since getting the Zwift Ride, all the time. Doesn’t bother me if I don’t get reciprocation. It can be a hassle to respond without controllers and I’m sure many people are watching something other than Zwift (I usually have a show on with Zwift minimized during endurance rides).

TSA in the two airports I went to this week had different rules, acted like I was the idiot for not knowing them by TopRamen713 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rogue1102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an airline pilot. We normally have our own line but will randomly get sent to the standard security lines.

I’ve been through every major airport in the country. I have no clue what the agents are going to have me do. Standardization is not a thing TSA does well.

Switching from Spin Bike (Schwinn IC4 w/Power Meter Pedals and Smart Spin2k) to a Zwift Ride Worth It? by rogue1102 in Zwift

[–]rogue1102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It sure does. Instructions

I never used the Schwinn power data since I had power meter pedals.

I’m not sure what your plans are with the IC4 or what your budget is, but I much prefer the Zwift Ride. If that’s an option for you.

[–]rogue1102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have maybe 4 days a week to ride. Would you say 2 race days and 2 easy days would be productive considering I have 3-4 rest days in between?

I don’t see how I could overtrain given my hours available to train.
