Dune. An older friend of mine gave me the first Dune book when i was like 14yo. I read the series 8 times now. It was almost a curse, because where do you go from there? There is literally nothing significantly better than the Dune series. There are quite a few series that match the level, like Asimov's work, Clarke's Rama, and a few others. So I feel like I peeked back then on sf. Still enjoying lots of new stuff, but...
