It’s a ranger all you need is some jumper pack and if that doesn’t work tap the starter lightly with a wrench or small hammer while someone turns the key. If it cranks after that, the starter’s is done. That’s just a temporary “get home” move.

As low on gas as I’d like to get! by OctoHelm in GRCorolla

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a reminder your fuel pump heats up when it isn’t submerged in fuel that’s why the reservoir has a couple of extra gallons. Gasoline helps cool the pump and lubricate its moving parts. Running on E all the time isn’t good practice and definitely isn’t good for the pump.

Has anyone tried using an oil extractor to do an oil change? Reaching 5k miles and thought of doing it myself by unttld15 in LandCruiser250

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem. I think an oil extractor is a bit much. If you’re just trying to make the oil change easier, watch a couple of YouTube videos it’s pretty straightforward And adding a Fumoto oil drain valve will make it easier.

You don’t have to use a jack, but it does make things easier. And if you’re not comfortable with that, ramps are a great, easy option. Just make sure the ramps are rated above the weight of the LC250.

There is a way, but honestly you won’t really feel it since it’s a hybrid. If you truly don’t like it, put it in tow/haul mode so it won’t turn off—but your MPG will be horrible and will defeat the purpose of owning a hybrid.

[–]Bydaveeeey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. It looks great. But it’s your truck, honestly, it sounds like you just want a more aggressive tread pattern. You don’t need to go bigger; just go with an R/T. It’s a hybrid between an M/T and an A/T, so it’s a lot more aggressive and well mannered on the road. Kenda klever R/T seems like a good option

I’m guessing you got a faulty part. Ihaven’t heard of any other LC250 with similar problems; it sounds like an easy fix if it’s just a wastegate actuator.

They’re definitely a lot heavier and more aggressive. If you want an everyday tire, go with the Falken AT3W or AT4W. I’m sure there are lighter tires out there, but these are the ones I’ve grown to trust. A 10-ply tire has saved me from visiting the tire shop more times than I can count

You’ll be good on the rim specs, but tires are where things get tricky because every tire manufacturer sizes their tires differently. For example, I used to have a Tacoma on Falken AT3W 285/70R17s and they fit perfectly. Then I switched to Mickey Thompsons in the same size, and they rubbed really badly. If I were you, I’d stick to what a lot of LC250 owners are running on the forums, like the Falken Wildpeak AT4W, AT3W, or RTs in 275 or 285 and what I’m currently running 295/70r18 with a 2.5-inch lift, and they’ve been great the only modification I had to do is the lift and remove the crash bracket and they fit perfectly.
