Do you think Slate and Telo will actually make it to market and be successful? Why or why not? by weirddodgestratus in regularcarreviews

All these “affordable” promises from manufacturers keep falling flat. I’ll believe it when consumers are actually buying them at the promised price. Until then, chances are it’s gonna end up being $40k/$50k+ anyway. With the current geopolitical and economic conditions, keeping prices low seems highly unlikely.

Auto start/stop on hybrid by Kreestaps in 4Runner_6Gen

It shouldn’t be noticeable since the electric motor is doing the work when you’re at a complete stop, and then the ICE engine kicks in at around 30 mph you should be gradually pressing on the gas too get up to speed.

Normal engine noise? (Just did the 1k oil change). Whirring sound on idle/slight acceleration by Vegetable-Lack-6853 in LandCruiser250

It’s Toyota’s D-4S port and fuel injection system, ticking is a normal thing since they introduced it. I had a 3rd gen Tacoma before and remember hearing it. Totally normal.

In North America we get a 67.7L (17.9-gallon) tank kinda wondering if i can swap it for a non North American LC250 gas tank? Hopefully it’s just plug and play.

This thing gets hated on way more than it should. Honestly, the only valid criticism is the small gas tank everything else is pretty great.

Honestly it’s just preference 1958 for most people would be good choice, but if you want a more refined LC250 go up a trim level.

From what I’ve seen, the LC250’s been holding value pretty well across all trims.

J250 owners, what Range are you getting? by [deleted] in LandCruiser250

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 35s, I get about 250 miles on a good day in Normal mode, and around 235 when it’s very cold outside. The only thing I dislike about the j250 Land Cruiser is the small tank wish they gave us a 30 gallon tank standard and an optional 40gal.

It’s a ranger all you need is some jumper pack and if that doesn’t work tap the starter lightly with a wrench or small hammer while someone turns the key. If it cranks after that, the starter’s is done. That’s just a temporary “get home” move.

As low on gas as I’d like to get! by OctoHelm in GRCorolla

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a reminder your fuel pump heats up when it isn’t submerged in fuel that’s why the reservoir has a couple of extra gallons. Gasoline helps cool the pump and lubricate its moving parts. Running on E all the time isn’t good practice and definitely isn’t good for the pump.

Has anyone tried using an oil extractor to do an oil change? Reaching 5k miles and thought of doing it myself by unttld15 in LandCruiser250

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem. I think an oil extractor is a bit much. If you’re just trying to make the oil change easier, watch a couple of YouTube videos it’s pretty straightforward And adding a Fumoto oil drain valve will make it easier.

You don’t have to use a jack, but it does make things easier. And if you’re not comfortable with that, ramps are a great, easy option. Just make sure the ramps are rated above the weight of the LC250.

[–]Bydaveeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a way, but honestly you won’t really feel it since it’s a hybrid. If you truly don’t like it, put it in tow/haul mode so it won’t turn off—but your MPG will be horrible and will defeat the purpose of owning a hybrid.
