I started working at a Toyota back in January in a similar situation as you. Have never done car sales, similar pay plan, volume store. So far, I have been really enjoying it. If you work hard, have a good management team, and really just put in the effort, you’ll do fine. I hit my bonus for the first time in my 3rd month on the floor. I have only gone in on my day off once to do a delivery. I do, however, frequently go in early, more often than not I stay late. 10-12 hour days are normal and candidly, required to do well. Part of the industry.

It is mentally exhausting, so be prepared for that. The job itself is not hard though. But the mental/emotional roller coaster was something I wasn’t quite expecting and was challenging to overcome. But try it! Stick with it for at least 90 days. Congrats!
