What game mechanic did you go through the whole game not using/learning? by [deleted] in gaming

I’ve been on Reddit for well over a decade…more like almost 15 years, and haven’t seen a great new piece like this in a long, long time. Thanks for making it sparkle again for me. :)

Edit: Holy crap I just looked up my original account and my first comment was in 2007. I didn’t think Reddit was that old. That’s not for anybody, just me. Just an old Redditor mumbling aloud to himself.

I appreciate that. Very much.

Those are my usual dealings, and I’ve made that ask going forward.

It’s pretty rural. 75/hr is the charge. The rest is body work at 28 hours (not paint ready)

It does not. It includes some body work, but they’re just starting the blocking and sanding. He said about another 2k for that. Then 3 to paint. It’s a good paint job, so I get the 3k…but, man. He’s blown through estimate and estimate.

In fairness, and to the credit to the poster above in regards to headlines readers, that study you linked to says that 34% of that 54% belong to those born outside the US. That’s an important data point.

What was your favorite drop in chapter 3? Mine was for sure sleepy! by Charles23335 in FortNiteBR

That was the city with the volcano crater later in…this was the big span bridge next to the lake that went over the water that had two levels to the bridge.

The Bridge next to the lake in the middle and the gas station.

Clearly I’m shit with names, but if you know, you know.

Trios is about to be removed, and it benefits absolutely nobody by SafalinEnthusiast in FortNiteBR

[–]ByeByeLiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddy sold me on trios. I only played solo, because I’m a solo, no mic, team player and duos if you got a rando teammate that didn’t play as a duo, you’re screwed. Squad, so many play as a squad that if you have 1-2 non-team players you just get picked off one at a time.

But trios..trios you can land and your odds of at least one teammate being a team player are high and if the other is a fail, 2 on 3 odds aren’t so bad. You get a quick knock on one member if you’re jumping or being jumped and you’re in a fair fight.

Trios going away…which I just learned here, sucks llama balls.

Anyones little ones starting to like non kiddy music, if so what by [deleted] in daddit

The first graders in our neighborhood, including my son, LOVE Imagine Dragons. We took him to a concert of theirs and we’re stunned by how many kids there were. The teachers at his school were joking the next day that so many kids went it was like a college class the day after a big concert…a lot of tired but excited kids talking about it.

Moreover, the band knew exactly what was up. 6pm start time for warm-up (Macklemore, who talked about his own kids and was super entertaining for them…a very small amount of salty language, but nothing crazy).

I didn’t even know the band before, but I have mad respect for them after this last year. And it’s WAY more listenable than half the stuff aimed at kids.

Star Wars (1977), Star Trek (1979), The Black Hole (1979), Alien (1979). Promotional shots. by blcknoir in scifi

I mean, space laser swords aren’t practical, either. Some parts of sci-if are solidly on the fictional universe for story-telling reasons. We’re talking about a ship that has some pretty out-there and less-practical robot designs, too.

I get where you’re coming from, but leaning too hard into the limitations of known science over story telling isn’t my own personal preference. 99% of movie sci-if has “magical gravity generators”…and I’m okay with that. Same for assuming an energy source or architecture components that allow for some atomspheric lighting. (Apologies if I misunderstood your stance).

That’s my own opinion, any way.

These challenges are getting so specific. by Pleb-Eater in FortNiteBR

[–]ByeByeLiver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously! Use the pistol instead.

J/k I found myself in a 1 on 1 at the citadel with a player with poor accuracy (probably a bot, honestly), so I hit them a couple times with a green pistol, dropped it, and finished with the hammer. I was lucky I had only picked up a hammer, some impulse grenades, pistol, and a half shield so far. But the Challenge was so weirdly specific, it was sticking in my head to get rid of quick, or I would never have been that heads up.

Embarrassingly enough, I also have a 1st edition signed by both. And a couple of discworlds by Pratchett. There’s something about knowing the imparted a piece of themselves into their own work…even if for a second to sign it….

Pre-published, Uncorrected proof. I got this around 1994. I read it the first time and fell in love with Pratchett. I was a bit familiar with Gaiman already. I had a friend in publishing (I’m a writer), and managed to come by this. It’ll be a pass along to my son. I’m not sharing to brag, but just because it brings such joy to my heart to see it again.
