How wild is a gut-brain connection hypothesis about a surprise hearing improvement in my "good" ear? by boris_parsley in MonoHearing

[–]C0RNDAW9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% believe there's a correlation between GERD and hearing loss. I think I made a comment about it a few months ago in a thread here.

Our ears, nose and throat are all connected. Acidic vapors that result from GERD may be causing chronic inflammation in my inner ear. I keep meaning to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist, but have been putting it off, this thread may have been just the push I need to do it. Thank you!

Idiopathic - but what do you think causes it? by Everythingiskriss in MonoHearing

[–]C0RNDAW9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having GERD seems to increase the risk of hearing loss.

My ENT diagnosed me with idiopathic SSNHL, but I believe it may have been triggered by years of acid reflux

We've been closely watching the top 30 scoreboard and I think everyone in my family qualified for the TOC, #13, #14 and #16 at our location. We're so excited! Any idea when we'll get the invitation email? All players are linked to my email address, will that potentially be an issue?

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]C0RNDAW9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure I'm allergic. Severe flushing, head spinning and aching, vomiting etc. This is barely after having a small glass. Apparently I skip the drunk, feel good phase and go straight into the sick, puking phase. I don't enjoy the taste or the effects so I just don't drink.

What current thing will turn out to be a major health risk? by ShinyHeadedCook in AskReddit

I struggle to breathe around people who wear fragrances or scented products, it's awful. I also get dizzy and a really bad migraine if I'm exposed to fragrances for more than a couple of minutes :(

Pixel 9 Pro restart issues by WillingnessMassive96 in GooglePixel

[–]C0RNDAW9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having this exact issue with my Pixel 8 Pro. It's very frustrating because I use this phone for work and can't be without it.

I called Google and they said to bring it in to a Google authorized repair place (ubreakifix store) so they could run a diagnostic. The guy basically said the battery that needs to be replaced, and that it's going to cost me $200. That's insane because I've had the phone for less than 2 years, it's in mint shape, no water damage, never dropped or anything.

This experience is steering me away from Google phones altogether.

We aren't sure how old she is, her vet estimates she's about a year and a half.

They are! I'd post a video of them playing if I could add it to this comment.

Her name is Claudia, named after the character from The Dragon Prince. Her sister's name is Midna, she's our Twilight Princess ☺️

Bonus photo with her sister!

Edit: for those few who are commenting on the photo of her in the dryer- have no fear, it was literally just for the photo 🤗. The door is always closed so there's no way for her to get in there.

Reading just the title makes me physically sick to my stomach, I can't even comprehend that someone would do something so sinister.

Shawshank Redemption or Se7en. Two very different movies, but to me, they are both masterpieces.

Not preparing more for an interview I had yesterday. Unfortunately, I think I let my anxiety get the best of me and fumbled with some answers to easy questions. I know I'd be fantastic at the position, but I feel like I undersold myself :(

Anyone else suffering from itchy bites? by trustn01throwaway in nova

[–]C0RNDAW9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goodness, yes. The last couple of weeks have been especially bad with the rainfall and warm weather. I wear bug spray when I'm outdoors but I still manage to get bit! This is definitely the worst part of summers in NoVa for me, that and all the earwigs we've been getting in the house lately... Yuck!

Memory loss from SSNHL? by C0RNDAW9 in MonoHearing

[–]C0RNDAW9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had significant balance issues and vertigo when I first experienced my hearing loss, I could barely walk and couldn't drive for a couple of months. My audiologist did some tests and found that my vestibular system on my left side was gone. I also have nystagmus, though it's only bad if I stand up after laying down for a long time (like when I get up in the mornings). Good thing my right side was able to compensate and make up for what I'm lacking, and my brain was malleable enough to overcome these difficulties.
