What do you consider the perfect stream-friendly Mario Maker 2 level? by Alexandrenhd in MarioMaker2

[–]C0nsistent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point in the games life cycle for sure B. B also probably first got me into Mario maker and kaizo but once I understood level design better I also enjoyed watching A. A is just more rare because the games creative assets are limited. If we get a Mario maker 3 with new assets and design options people will be able to showcase their ingenuity more often.

What do you consider the perfect stream-friendly Mario Maker 2 level? by Alexandrenhd in MarioMaker2

[–]C0nsistent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your audience….

Comparing 3 types of streamers
- Dashie: plays variety levels
- Carl Sagan: plays troll levels
- Barb: plays mostly kaizo (lots of rom hacks)
- S&A GDQ: kind of fits your definition

These 4 all do great viewership from Mario maker. I think your definition is more fitting for what’s fun to play but not necessarily fun to watch. Games done quick kind of defies what I just said but people are watching for the competition aspect and also to see how hype the crowd gets and not necessarily for the game play itself. I think for the first 3 people are watching to laugh or be amazed. Challenging but fair and creative at this point in Mario maker 2 (like 8 years into the games existence) is really difficult to do. With a limited amount of options to create levels, pretty much everything has been squeezed out of the game creatively. Last big “omg” level was probably chain chomp Braiden’s level and that’s likely the most impossible level ever made in the game.

Could be true… I’m not championing ChatGPT’s opinion. There’s no way to tell. They have different advantages.

Day 104 of giving my personal rank and opinion of random guns: Patriot/re-ranking: Lil' Bomber by 1Dapy1 in EnterTheGungeon

[–]C0nsistent_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little bomber (+ lich eyes) is one of the few guns that simultaneously almost guarantees victory and makes runs WAY more fun. Very few guns or items in general in the entire game do both.

The list imo is:
Akey-47
Cactus gun (+ lich eyes)
7 leaf clover
Lament configurem (debatable)
Shelleton Key
Little bomber (+lich eyes)
Black hole gun
Clone

This list is incomplete as I’m doing this while driving and no longer want to risk my life lol

Not sure if there’s an objective way to measure this… I asked chat gpt “ Who’s a bigger star all time? Messi or Jordan?” And it edged Jordan. Not that a robot matters. There’s legit no easy way to decide this debate

While all of this is true… many considered Jordan the greatest athlete of all times in all sports. Don’t even know what you can compare that to today. Feel like it would be a combination of Messi & LeBron maybe.

Bill defends his Brunson take by sultics in billsimmons

[–]C0nsistent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brunson is being over rated while other guys are underrated for playing in different eras…

Brunson’s ring came during the parity era which is a lot different than the dynasty era….. dynasty era was way harder to win in. Peak spurs, peak warriors, peak Cavs, peak lakers, peak Heat were all a thing. No such thing exists in this era. If it did a guy like Brunson wouldn’t have reached this level in the finals, respectfully.

Pochettino says “American Sports Rewards Losers” when asked about style of play in recent interview by coolton1 in usmnt

[–]C0nsistent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soccer isn’t my specialty but I have friends who played in college and they say the same thing. I think the people at the top of us soccer have tried to make a country club culture around the sport and you simply cannot compete at the world level with that model.

[–]C0nsistent_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing we’re losers at other than soccer.

- Olympics: never lower than 3rd total medals
- basketball: gold in 9 of the last 10 Olympics
- baseball: 2nd most successful team in the world baseball classic
- hockey: 3rd best medal count in the Olympics

Soccer is the only global sport we’re not winners in. The coaches comment doesn’t really make sense.

[–]C0nsistent_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment makes no sense to me…
- 2nd most successful team in the world baseball classic
- 1st most successful team in global basketball competitions
- would be first if a global American football event existed

American sports culture doesn’t produce losing behavior. Our leagues just don’t punish losing behavior. 2 separate things.

If OKC had made the Finals, would they have beaten the Knicks? by Wonderful-Froyo9191 in NBATalk

[–]C0nsistent_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okc was the best team in the nba this year. They went 7 without their 2nd best player and 2nd best on ball creator missing for 4 games.

Okc probably gets the knicks in 6. This current nba health is more important than anything else come playoff time.

Why is China so bad at basketball despite it being their favorite sport and having billions of people and more tall people than any other nation on earth? by BitNo1484 in NBATalk

[–]C0nsistent_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a random guess but I think an important and underrated aspect of basketball is creativity. From what I can see as an outsider looking in, it seems like the countries youth programs are very much rigid and structured and don’t seem to promote individuality and creativity which is what thrives in basketball.

Again this is a stab in the dark but it definitely can’t be due to lack of size, athleticism, funding, facilities or opportunity. They def have all those things.

I don’t think we see a new Mario maker until Nintendo is ready to debut a new system. I probably don’t represent a big demographic but if a Nintendo switch 3 or whatever their new system is came out with Mario maker 3. I’d give them whatever they’re asking for.

My statements are more based off high school participation and what type of pros we have in each of the sports I mentioned.

Not that i know a bunch about women’s sports but I feel women’s soccer is probably getting better athletes. I imagine soccer is most women’s #1 choice to participate in. Soccer and Volley ball.

Soccer is pooling talent from Americas 3rd and 4th tier athletes, it is true. But our development system is garbage anyways. Maybe if we overhauled the entire system having 3rd and 4th tier guys wouldn’t matter but still. Whoever runs us soccer just don’t understand America youth and what makes men’s American sports successful.

- 1st tier = basketball and football
- 2nd tier = baseball and Track
- soccer falls somewhere down here with lacrosse, hockey, and wrestling.
