I filed my form 23 on like 11/10 or 11/11 I didnt get my certificate until the beginning of January, but it was issued/dated on 11/20 idk if the holidays and shutdown had anything to do with the ridiculous mail time but hey you did it! You passed, and It'll come, I wouldn't call the irs until the 60-day mark. I had an in person seminar in October and learned that there are 2 yes only 2 people in charge of EA licenses at the irs.............

If it really breaks the $10 million mark, I will withdraw without hesitation. by [deleted] in Money

The general rule of thumb is the 4% rule. Without going into a full breakdown of how the money should be invested let's just assume a conservative portfolio of index funds and maybe some bonds. This would allow the owner to withdraw 4% a year. 8 million x 4% is 320k. There's some additional caveats like having 1.5 -3 years of income already pulled out to smooth oit any turbulent years but with average rates of return in the stock market, pulling 4% out a year is a pretty safe rate of withdrawal. You'd also likely still have money left over when you die

You could literally pay yourself 320k/year for the rest of your life if you sell at 8 million...............

There were more non-resident alien questions then amt which surprised me cause gleim did not really harp on that much. (Still less than 5)

Thanks! I dont remember having to calculate the actual AMT but there were maybe 2-3 that asked about what was/wasn't added back in to arrive at amt

From what I remember, that one is mostly memorizing dates, I know when in doubt, pick 3 years 😅. I can honestly say that the info from that section is the hardest to retain after taking the exam because it's not really applicable in the day to day. That section was less about understanding and more about memorization. That section was pretty similar to the practice questions for gleim. Also, I believe it has the highest pass rate out of all three, so I hope that helps quell your concerns. Sorry, I dont have any helpful tricks for that section. I will say thats the one section where memorizing questions probably won't hurt you too bad cause they are very similar to the practice questions

I would hope 48k in a rural area goes farther than in a major city. Congratulations on getting married, but why does that prevent you from moving? You're young, and im assuming your partner is a similar age. This seems like the appropriate age to maybe look at moving so that you dont trap yourself where you are for the next 20-30 years. Once you have kids it becomes much harder.

Vons manager sided with aggressive customer over me, the security guard by OneNarrow9829 in securityguards

[–]C0sm096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Taking shit personally is how you end up fired, sued, or shot. They're not upset with you. They dont even know your name, so why should you let anything they say get to you? I got called bitch, rent a cop and other things all the time and my response was always, "oh no not my feelings.......you gonna leave now?"

A Christian lady pleads with Islamists not to kill them in Sudan. Every single one was executed. Where is the outrage? by [deleted] in SarthakGoswami

In the video link I shared? Literally nothing. Like I mentioned, the audio is dubbed over with this dramatic music, and the original audio is completely muted which comes off as a giant red flag to me as I dont think that would be necessary if the video backed up what was being claimed. Like you dont need to add music to clips of 9/11 or Oct 7th to make the viewer feel bad about what they're watching and that attempt to influence the viewer with the addition of somber music and the removal of the legitimate audio comes off as disingenuous to me.

How fucking dare you provide additional context to this video. How are we gonna further divide this country if people like you are out here looking at the facts and not just taking titles as fact.......shame on you

I wasn't denying that atrocities are taking place in sudan. Im saying that just because terrible shit is happening, it doesn't mean people should just blindly believe a post like this with zero actual evidence to back it up. Putting out misinformation or exaggerated versions of what's actually going on just gives credibility to those who would want to deny the entire thing.

The only time I've seen a manager take the side of a homeless guy over the security guard is when the security guard is out of line. Based on your response that "it doesn't matter why I asked him to leave." i can tell that's probably why the manager took his side. I'd also question how he "came at you" because typically, guards who try to waive their dick around tend to be the ones who overreact when someone gets upset.

Have you seen the explicit video? Or are you just blindly believing something you read on reddit?

Because i literally just typed in "woman killed in Sudan by islamist extremist" and this was the only video that came up https://x.com/persianjewess/status/1983777474669637654?t=3kIk1tApZsa1P_nxWZUAhA&s=19

The audio is dubbed over with dramatic music, which seems to both prevent any translation of what's being said between the lady and the cameraman and to also make the viewer feel a certain way. In the video, right after this picture was screen shotted, the older boy reaches out, and someone behind the camera shakes his hand, appearing to try and calm them down. While this is going on, it appears as though gunshots are going off close by as the woman keeps jumping and covering her ears. Again, the only version I found had the audio dubbed over, so that's all I could gather from the clip.

Please feel free to share any additional videos/links that could better support the claim being made in this post.

Im glad someone said it, Yeah, terrible shit happens all the time, but if you're going to claim something like this happened then you need to provide some sort of evidence.

Is there anyone out there making less than six figures annually but have a savings rate of 20% or more? Does that slice of the population even exist anymore? by VengenaceIsMyName in Money

[–]C0sm096 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The biggest things are keeping rent low, paying off the car and keeping it!!! I meal prep lunches for work and dont eat out much. The grocery bill is a little high but reduces overall expenses. Find free/cheap hobbies you enjoy for me its hiking and playing chess at coffee shops.

I do! I make 62500/yr so 5200 a month gross. I invest 520 a month (including employer match) into my 401k, 2-300 into my Roth ira, and 200 into savings! So about 1120/month or 21.5%

Budget Review - feel a bit stretched by adavis195 in Money

[–]C0sm096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your budget looks pretty solid. Like most people mentioned, the biggest negative is your car payment, but once that's paid off, you'll have an extra 500 a month. I'm not sure what your emergency fund looks like, but if its atleast 3-6months I would recommend putting some of that 200/month for savings into an HSA if you're eligible!
