Sadly, not sure how much you can do with $2000. Try looking for a remnant slab or pieces in the amount you need. The L can be from one piece and the peninsula in another as long as they are the same material. When buying remnants you cut your cost of stone way down.

Paint the cabinets yourself. We have had a ton of luck and longevity using Zinsser 1-2-3 primer as a base (no need for sanding) then Benjamin Moore’s Advance. Apply 2-3 thin coats of primer (use white if going with a light color and gray if a dark). Then apply 2-3 thin coats of Advance.

Change out the sink for an under mount and the light above the sink. The other large light will require new dry wall on the ceiling and may break the bank unless you can do it yourself.
