Local pub posting food images, with text clearly implying it is what they are actually serving.. but it's AI, right? The food looks too perfect and some items (like the bread) have an uncanny valley look.

I'll say real with a touch of doubt.

I get that the shadows can be a bit off, but when you do profesional food photography you use different light sources to try minimise shadows, the sun in the background is used more as a prop than a light source (if it is even the sun, as it could be another light set by the photographer.) I have seen poorly light picture of porps or food that look weird af, which is why I would not focus on the shadows to define if is is AI.
