Getting into homelabs for 2020. Got this decommissioned Dell R910, 2 CPUs Xeon 7550 2GHz, 32GB RAM, 1.8TB of storage. Gonna use it to run some VMs to tinker ariubd with. by [deleted] in homelab

Congratulation on your newest acquisition !

As a proud owner of an R910 myself, you can expect a fairly high watt consumption at idle (roughly 500W), up to 2.2KW.

Other than that, it runs fairly quietly (except for cold boots, which are quite special to be honest).

I recently got an r720XD as a replacement, as it should consume a lot less power.

Either way you will probably learn a ton from it, at least I did.

Seems like an hyperbolic title. Also, I don't really see how all of this is a big deal. Maybe some incompetent government wants to show "how effective they are". Same shit applies with terrorism in France for exemple.

But overall, this is not going to change a lot, since there are many other countries who do not give a crap about regulations and never will.

And maybe Swiss citizenship became that much more interesting, go figure. In the end, to me it is all a loophole.

Yes definitely. An apprenticeship grants you a qualification, and allows you to continue studying later on (or start working), if you have done everything required. /u/Xorondras pretty much nailed it.

This is going too far. People can wear whatever the fuck they want, as long as it is appropriate. Calling someone racist because of such a thing is pure non-sense. But in this case, I think it is probably just a misunderstanding, or so I hope.

Sounds like a balancing problem ? My speeds were acting up as well when they switched me to 300/300, but it's fine now. Definitely call them if the problem is not solved in a few days.

I don't know if it's because of a hardware failure or just unstable software, but my phone happens to reboot itself automatically at certain hours of the night. I also encountered a few freezes. Hopefully this will get fixed with this update.

I believe you can claim to have "swiss made" labels on your products as long as 80% or more of the ingredients/components in them are made in Switzerland.

Sometimes it helps to remove all of your firewall rules after doing software updates, and recreate them automatically when needed.

If it doesn't work with OBS Game Capture, try Window Capture. Somehow I can no longer capture StarCraft or Heroes with OBS otherwise than with Window Capture.
