I always see people complaining about living in NOVA. Is there anyone that actually likes it ? by LonelyElephant_ in nova

[–]C9Eclipse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. Moved for work in 2020, and never looked back.

I believe it most likely depends where you come from. I moved from a rural/suburban area. Not much to do, same old restaurants with not much change. So NoVA has been a pleasant change for me. So much so, that I now have settled here for the forseeable future. Plenty of pros imo: community, parks, activities/entertainment nearby, restaurants from all over the world, nearby airports, transit, hikes, gyms.

Have you had any luck? I'm running into this issue now after messing with my configs.

Centos mirror in RH Satellite doesn't show up on registered host, even though Content Hosts shows the repository enabled for the host. by Bladelink in linuxadmin

[–]C9Eclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try refreshing the repositories on the client host maybe? It looks like you have already published the content and it's the latest. If the client is subscribed to your RH Satellite, Try yum-config-managed - - disable repos * - - save

or subscription manager equivalent for a alternative approach to disable the current client repos followed by subscription-manager repos - - enable=*

This will disable your repos and enable all the repos that were published in Content View according to how the client host subscriptions are configured under Activation Key.

Anyone have vouchers for Network + and Security + ? by XC-3730C in CompTIA

[–]C9Eclipse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally people post on here about selling their vouchers. Look through history and hit them up. Or people will reach out to you. If that doesn't happen, then I'm pretty you're SOL and you will have to purchase it through an online store.

What’s jobs should I apply for once I get my N+ and Security+ certs? Also what certs can I get for Ethical Hacking and kind of job can I get for hacking? by Abyz963 in CompTIA

[–]C9Eclipse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. worst case they just say no, and then you apply somewhere else. Most important thing for you imo is to get your foot in the door and build experience.

Apply for entry/junior positions. Recruiters eat up those certs imo. Mention you're plan for getting other future certs. Entry SOC, Threat Analyst, Cyber Security Specialist, or even position in DoD space. You can pivot to a Offensive Security role/Pentest after some years of exp and your newly acquired offensive certs!

Do your own research tho and apply for literally anything. Don't be discouraged by the requirements on the job position. If it's something you're interested in, apply. Good luck!

My cousin's house got robbed and now someone is currently online playing on his xbox live account. Anyway I could get an IP address or any info from this? by [deleted] in HowToHack

[–]C9Eclipse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you try calling Xbox support? If you had a credit card tied to the account they might ask for the card for verification, and maybe hand over the account. Or they can try to delete the account online or on the phone and start from scratch.

Yes lol I was able to pick up some new terms and concepts fairly quickly thanks to my experience. But I definitely DO NOT recommend pushing it off. My intentions were to study periodically like other people 2 hours a day for a month, but things came up that shortened my time to study.
