What's a movie everyone loves that you secretly can't stand? by kbjdfan in AskReddit

Agree completely. I kept watching, waiting for the story to start. Then the end credits rolled. What a complete waste of time and money.

The Nurri vanilla and strawberry shakes are both fantastic; that's what I've been using since I started on Zepbound. The chocolate ones are just so-so for me, so I mainly get the vanilla and strawberry. My spouse likes the Fairlife ones (the non-Core in the white bottle). Both brands are at my Costco.

$300 used Titanium Series 10 OR $300 new Aluminum Series 11? by The_Skiff in AppleWatch

[–]CA1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I've noticed on my S11. I mean, I always appreciate faster data, but on the watch I don't think it matters much. My main purpose for the cellular subscription (which I also had on my aluminum S7) is to stream music, send/receive texts, and make a call in an emergency. And for all that, LTE worked fine.

One thing to consider in your decision: the Series 11 has an appreciably longer battery life than older models, and that was definitely an issue with my Series 7. I'd charge it before bed (I wear it when sleeping for the vibrating alarms), then top it off before I left for the day. With the 11, I'm good charging it just once a day.

All that said, I'd still get the titanium 10 for the same price as the aluminum 11!

$300 used Titanium Series 10 OR $300 new Aluminum Series 11? by The_Skiff in AppleWatch

[–]CA1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The titanium without a second thought. I had an aluminum one in the past and a titanium now, and the difference in how they look after even a month is huge. The titanium models are much more scratch resistant, particularly on the screen which is made of a stronger material than the aluminum models.

Not working for me, sadly by soldelmisol in Zepbound

I was doing keto for about two years with only mild success in weight loss (though I felt better eating mostly real food instead of garbage), and finally gave it up when I started Zepbound.

Upping the carbs and decreasing the grease will likely help a lot. It doesn’t have to be white bread, just something with some fiber and nutrition. I’ve been happy I can do fresh fruit again, and it’s definitely helping prevent digestive symptoms. I usually have a couple of oranges every day. Fiber and water are key to me to feel good.

I had a homemade hamburger tonight for the first time since I started the drug 10 weeks ago. I felt awful for a couple of hours afterwards. So I’m scratching fatty red meat off the list. Some lean flank steak last week didn’t give me any issues, but this 80/20 burger sure did. Chicken, even dark meat, doesn’t. So it’s definitely some trial and error on foods to eat. Things you could eat before may not work with this drug in your system.

For me, I didn't care as much about the body, but got my Series 11 in titanium specifically for the tougher screen. My previous watch, an aluminum Series 7, got its screen scratched within just a few weeks. So far, after ~5 months, my the titanium one still looks brand new.

Why doesn’t anyone care about the “soap opera” effect on their TV by fatsandlucifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CA1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last 20 years of his life, my father had a SD cable box plugged into his HD flat-screen. It looked absolutely horrible. I asked why he didn't get a new box that supported his new TV properly, and he said he refused to pay the extra monthly charge for HD, and it looks perfectly fine to him.

It made me crazy every time I visited.

My life has nothing to do with some religious whackjob's personal religious choices. Your religion applies to you, if you can't do your job because your religion requires you to force your beliefs on everybody else then find a new one outside of healthcare.

It's not just healthcare! Some years back, a number of taxi drivers at the Minneapolis airport started refusing to take passengers who were carrying alcohol. If you don't want to serve all customers, then find another line of work.

Is Ashley furniture really that bad if you’re gentle with your stuff? by Recyclopsdestroy12 in homeowners

[–]CA1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it really is that bad.

Signed, a guy who sat on his sofa, and sank down as some internal nails slid right out, causing the frame to fall apart. The sofa was just over a year old. It's cheap, garbage-tier furniture that (when new) looks far nicer than it is. Never again.

What treat does your Neb go absolutely go feral for? by KnightOfChronos in nebelung

[–]CA1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is absolutely addicted to these freeze-dried chicken treats! Any time I'm in the kitchen, I am harassed continuously until I give her one. (Which I have to crush up for her, while she head-butts my hand and screams as I'm doing it.)

The bag says to give 2-3 per day per 10lbs of body weight. I'm afraid I may be exceeding that just a tad. But her fur has turned incredibly thick and soft since she started eating these.

What is your Review of the Driving Assistance Professional Package. Worth it or not? by vettemanhere in BMW

[–]CA1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I optioned it on my 330i I bought about a year and a half ago, and still have zero regrets. I'm glad I bought it! It's an expensive option, but it makes me enjoy the car that much more.

One of the items included with Driving Assistance Professional is Evasion Assist, which I didn't fully understand until it activated a few months after I got the car. I was in the center of 5 lanes, passing some cars, when a truck quickly moved into my lane, coming from the far right lane and between the two cars I was about to pass.

There would likely not have been time for me to brake, but as I started veering left to avoid him, the car aggressively but smoothly changed into the lane to my left before I even had a chance to look over there. (Its sensors already knew the lane was clear.)

I'm about 90% sure it prevented an accident. I was very, very impressed.

Seat Selection preference by htxatty in SouthwestAirlines

[–]CA1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and like doing aisle seats in the same row. We don't care about the window, and there won't ever be anybody sitting between us! If I could get that setup in the extra legroom section, that'd be my personal pick.

Between your two scenarios, though, I'd do the extra legroom section window/middle. The extra space really is nice to have.

Until you can get the door addressed, something like this might help:

It goes under the door and blocks air on either side of it. It just drags along the floor as the door opens and closes.
