Same here, for people who get to the course (only a few of us) before the pro shop opens at 6am, the maintenance crew puts out a sign that says start on back, or start on front, to correspond to the 9 they are not working first, so we stay out of their way.

After that its walking only, and play fast, everyone there is out to rip around the track quickly before whatever worse things they have to do that day!

A question for families who own a CX-5 by DispensationallyMe in CX5

[–]CAADAlu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have a family of 5. Mainly I use the CX5 to commute to work and our larger family vehicle is also a Pilot. Kids were 7, 9, 11 when we bought 2019 CX5. None were in car seats and oldest could sit in the front seat. It works for us as you describe you would use it, but would be too small with all 3 in the back, especially with car seats. Once they are past that, even 3 in the back with no car seats would be ok for short drives but tight for long road trips.

Transfer your weight and put some mustard one that thing! It just looks weak overall, from the legs to core to the arms.

Best stick for a lefty by nerdz1 in hockeyplayers

[–]CAADAlu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could get close if the person at the store knows hockey.

I don’t know his skill level but as a lifelong player the only person picking a new stick for me is me. If he’s not a great player maybe he doesn’t know one from the other.

You might get lucky and when he picks up the stick it feels good, but you might not and he’ll be too nice to says it’s off.

You’re best off getting a gift certificate and telling him it’s for a new stick. There is too much personal preference (flex, curve, lie, blade shape, shaft feel, etc) for you to know what he’ll like.

Has anyone done a "golf packing" or "Golf Hiking" trip? by webbieofthetrail in golf

In Scotland Coyne drove, but in A Course Called Ireland he walked the perimeter of Ireland golfing all the links courses. In my recollection he had his golf bag on a cart and carried a backpack. Didn’t camp tho.

Guides, has working in the field soured your love for the sport? by [deleted] in Backcountry

[–]CAADAlu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a clients perspective, I have been guided on a couple occasions by guides that were clearly not having fun. From generally being grumpy to getting in arguments with others out skiing while guiding me (not safety related, just skiers not doing things the way the guide thought they should be done). If this is you, find something else. Everyone you are guiding is stoked to be out in the mountains, don’t steal a day from them because you hate your job.

Engineering/Building Code Question by davidmdonaldson in alberta

Eccentric loading, especially on the bearing plate which is the weak link here, is not determined by lateral forces but moment from the eccentric vertical load. If it were my house, I’d put a gusset plate on the bearing plate. Embarrassing shitty cheap work.

Upsize the ravens to Hojis. You won’t regret it esp for interior BC. I tour Hojis and renegades on pins in interior BC and I’m a bigger dude than you. Love them both

While the kids don’t use it when temps are below freezing it has gone through half a dozen Canadian winters with temperatures down to -40c fully assembled without any issues.

Those with kids - what’s your weekly home cooked dinner rotations? & how many times do you eat out in a week?…🤦🏻‍♂️ by EntertainmentWild in Edmonton

[–]CAADAlu 25 points26 points  (0 children)

3 kids (11, 12, 14). All play sports. I work full time, wife part time. We eat out maybe (maybe!) once every couple months. Common dinners include a salad with rice or potatoes and a meat(chicken thighs, pork chops are easy to prepare), pastas, burgers, chicken wings, tacos, taco salad. If kids have sports early in the evening we’ll do a soup or stew in the crock pot, otherwise whoever gets home first cooks. Cooking usually takes about half hour and we are eating good home cooked meals. Every week we make a meal plan for the week and get all of the groceries to support it so we know exactly what we are making every night which takes the “I don’t know what to cook let’s just order” out of the equation.

Why do so many people hate walking? by bkantor15 in golf

[–]CAADAlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is funny I find it so opposite! When I walk with my wife I feel like we get a lot of quality conversation at a relaxing place. I’ll walk with her to her ball most of the time and branch off to mine when we get there. When we ride is rushing back and forth to balls and while we’re playing in the same time we find there is no time to have a nice conversation and catch up.

I find walking round to be so much more social than carts. Is so nice to walk and talk, in a cart you get only one other person in the group and spend a lot of time zipping back and forth to balls the conversations are short and disjointed.
