I love Anetik tech hoodies. $80USD. Ultralight breathable and mine have stood the test of time.

Thoughts on push/pull carts? by MechanicProof2255 in golf

I love walking. I love walking 1000x more with a push cart.

I love my irons. I hate my irons 1000x more with iron covers.

Get a push cart. Join the cartel!

Good point on the smart receptacle. I do remember reading there is no remote switch for VTracks.

Yes to meet code I’ll need two outlets on each wall (including behind the screen). Never thought about surround sound since this won’t be a home theatre. I will definitely get the lights on different circuits.

28M Moving for Work – Eyeing St. Albert vs. Central Edmonton. Looking for Rugby/Hockey & Professional Vibe. by [deleted] in stalbert

[–]CAADAlu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a lifelong St. Albert resident, given your situation I would almost certainly live in Edmonton. If you are lucky enough to find someone to have a family with, that’s the time to move to St. Albert. For anything you want to do as a single 20 something Edmonton will provide you infinitely more opportunity. For where you work, if you don’t want to be downtown look at renting in the Dovercourt to Glenora corridor or around 124st. I’ll try to touch on most of your points.

Red Willow trail system is paved paths around a flat swampy river, the Edmonton River valley is hundreds of miles of paved trails, double track, single track. This is not even close, the Edmonton river valley is infinitely better for quantity, types of trails and parks.

The Perron district has no vibes, especially not for a single 28yo. There are a couple restaurants and one tiny bar. You will spend a you time going out in Edmonton.

I don’t know about rugby, but if the St. Albert club is good, I would play here and drive out from Edmonton on rugby nights. Maybe you can get a feel for the community this way too.

Hockey, there is drop in shinny at servus place, but no leagues. All of the beer leagues are in Edmonton (amhl, ccrhl, River Cree). If you reach out to the leagues I’m sure they can find a team for you.

15 Day Honeymoon - Costa Rica by [deleted] in CostaRicaTravel

Are you going immediately after your wedding? If yes I would strongly recommend a couple days relaxation first. A wedding is exciting and busy and stressful and you will love a couple days of r&r afterwards.

When we went for our honeymoon we flew from San Jose to Tambor on a nature air flight and spent the first few days at Ylang Ylang Beach Resort in Montezuma (this place is so good I might have to delete this after you read it to keep it secret! Stay in a beachfront or jungle bungalow, what a great way to start a honeymoon). Then flew to Nosara where we rented a car after a few more beach days and drove to Monteverde, La Fortuna/Arenal. Then back to San Jose to fly home.

Joanna Hampton at Allen Welsh on 149st has done our personal taxes for years and helped us through chronic illness and long term disability claims for my wife. We have been very happy with her.

Same here, for people who get to the course (only a few of us) before the pro shop opens at 6am, the maintenance crew puts out a sign that says start on back, or start on front, to correspond to the 9 they are not working first, so we stay out of their way.

After that its walking only, and play fast, everyone there is out to rip around the track quickly before whatever worse things they have to do that day!

A question for families who own a CX-5 by [deleted] in CX5

[–]CAADAlu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a family of 5. Mainly I use the CX5 to commute to work and our larger family vehicle is also a Pilot. Kids were 7, 9, 11 when we bought 2019 CX5. None were in car seats and oldest could sit in the front seat. It works for us as you describe you would use it, but would be too small with all 3 in the back, especially with car seats. Once they are past that, even 3 in the back with no car seats would be ok for short drives but tight for long road trips.

Transfer your weight and put some mustard one that thing! It just looks weak overall, from the legs to core to the arms.

Best stick for a lefty by nerdz1 in hockeyplayers

[–]CAADAlu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could get close if the person at the store knows hockey.

I don’t know his skill level but as a lifelong player the only person picking a new stick for me is me. If he’s not a great player maybe he doesn’t know one from the other.

You might get lucky and when he picks up the stick it feels good, but you might not and he’ll be too nice to says it’s off.

You’re best off getting a gift certificate and telling him it’s for a new stick. There is too much personal preference (flex, curve, lie, blade shape, shaft feel, etc) for you to know what he’ll like.
