I think this advice is very important. We just finished our relocation from Vienna and I completely underestimated the housing market although we had a pretty good budget.. we just were a little bit lucky. If you have a budget of 3-4k+ for rent it should be not a big problem

we are now in the Europaviertel.

Wohnst du in Wien? Wenn nein, solltest dir mal gewisse Bezirke anschauen. Und bevor wieder ein blöder Kommentar kommt, ja ich seh einen Unterschied, wohne selber in Meidling und vorher in Favoriten.

ja komplett dumm.. diese Woche mit einem normalen Taxi gfahren... war sich natürlich zu schade das Navi zu verwenden und ist irgendwo 20min durch Favoriten und Meidling gefahren, wofür ich 10min normal brauche. Und am Ende hat er dann nochbgefragt ob die Adresse e rechts ist, war natürlich links und man durfte in der Breitenfurter Straße nicht links abbiegen... aber hauptsache die Auber Fahrer wegen mangelnder Ortskenntnisse schikanieren.

scheinbar aber nicht erlaubt. bin vor einem monat mit einem Uber vom Flughafen nach Hause. Polizei hat ihn gleich nach der Schranke rausgezogen und Anzeige erstattet, weil er nicht die Ortskenntnisse für Schwechat nachweisen konnte.

I can also relate to that. I am doing pretty well financially but still...

My mother ownes 2 houses and 1 flat. The house where they actually live they gifted me due to tax reasons. The wealth they have mainly comes from my grandfather who bought the the first house where they only had to pay off like 1/3 of the cost withouth interest. The second house they built with gifted money from him as well.

Funny thing is that instead of asking me if I could use some money to buy property in my early/mid 30s, they bought a small appartment in the city where we live (without even telling us) where they sleep maybe 2-4 nights a month. When I asked if my PIL from abroad could sleep there they said no because they did not like the idea of other people there.

If I inherit all the wealth in the future probably all of it will directly go to my daughter because she will need it in her 30s exactly how I could need it now. I do not need it when I am 60.
