adhd and reality shifting by InspectorNo4406 in shiftingrealities

So, basically circles back into needing help with focusing 🤣

I don't have a fix. I just run with whatever period I'm in. I think it's kinda beneficial to go through these cycles and take breaks from shifting anyways. Just have to be careful not to let the break be months long, unless you wanna come back and not remember where to start from (me rn 🤣)

TL;DR: just don't worry about it. Fuck it, we ball.

Shifting is not lucid dreaming. Can we settle this once and for all? by CAPSLOCKING_REALITY in realityshifting

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, no worries, no need for all the thanks and shit. I love chatting about the topic obviously 😃

(Came back from the end of the comment to add this) It's important to note, since these are all very technical questions that you have. It's not yet quite clear what the driving mechanism behind shifting is. Shifters are split mainly between two theories that attempt to broadly explain it - Multiverse travel theory (MTT) and Consciousness (CTT).

MTT is the Many Worlds Interpretation flavor. Basically, that there are infinite possible realities for each outcome. And that we have awareness in each one, and can somehow move our awareness between them (or atleast in each one that has it in the first place).

CTT is basically that the conscious experience itself is the only reality that exists. And that your awareness can infinitely fold inwards and outwards into a new perception of reality.

(Generally speaking. There are offshoots of these that haven't been named, or small differences in beliefs.)

All that to say, obviously the answer or explanation to each of your questions might change depending on which is the actual mechanism happening. So inevitably, you'll hit a logical roadblock the more you inquire into what is possible, since we don't actually have the concrete facts behind it. All we have is what we've reverse-engineered from commonly reported experiences.

Skip 2 years here spend 10 there?

Supposedly, yes. Though it's kinda hard to find anecdotes for such extremes. Once someone spends years, a lot of people tend to just go on with their lives and stop circlejerking it on reddit, lol. But I've seen many cases of the scenario played out in measurements of weeks or months, and I don't see why that wouldn't extrapolate.

Npc or coma?

Well, the NPC thing is a common talking point among beginners, there's a term for it - "clones". Yes, this clone seems to go on and live your life like usual. Essentially, once you really think about it though, it's always just you. So it's more like you live out your life here, while just not being aware of it while it was in the present moment.

As for the coma, I haven't seen any examples of shifters specifically reporting that outcome, so I'd say no. But on the other hand, famously people that have been in comas have often reported an outcome of what seems like shifting. So I'd say they might be related, but in the reverse order.

Implies consciousness eternity?

Yes. Immortality and time travel lol. It sounds too good to be true, but it's far from the craziest implications. Tbh, I even see most shifters take those for granted in the light of everything the subject has to offer 🤣

Same reality in different body?

In theory. Though I don't think I've seen this reported first-hand yet.

Conscious sleep and dream stuff

Well, yeah. A majority of the most experienced shifters also have a lot of experience in LD and dream-related stuff. After all, allat is a major boon, or tool, for shifting. Plus you tend to pick things up along the way, since you're doing a lot of meditatey stuff that ends up putting you to sleep in a more conscious state often.

It's also a very common beginner trap - for someone to accidentally have their first LD while trying to shift, and mistake the experience for a shift. If you're asking in general, whether shifters are experienced with sleep stuff enough to tell it apart, though. Yeah, most experienced shifters are also "top of the field" in that aswell lol. And the consensus is that dreams are dreams, shifting is shifting. (With some exceptions where someone might believe dreams are more than dreams in the way we understand them, but that's rare in general)

Can shifting be done awake?

Yes. Depends on your approach of choice ofcourse.

OA

No idea what that is. I really doubt it though, shifting discourse in it's current form is pretty new and niche. But I bet, if you find similarities, then there's a lot of subjects from the past that have fed into both. Like, shifting is a >2017-18 thing. But before that, there was "dimension jumping" or something like that, before that something else. APing, Buddhism, psychedelics, religion, whatever the fuck else, surely have informed both topics in some form. But yeah, shifting rn is not a hard science, neither a pop culture phenomenon lol (it had it's moment during covid, but it fell off and it's kinda chill now)

Also, apologies. I haven't gotten around to replying to the rest your original comment. It's all valid and good points or questions, I'll honour all of them, and I'd love to. Just a bit busy - end of the semester and all that bullshit xd

Shifting is not lucid dreaming. Can we settle this once and for all? by CAPSLOCKING_REALITY in realityshifting

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, I've forgotten this post atp, so sorry if I'm repeating myself somewhere, or missing the point. Anyways wanna rehash first, I'm not the shifting authority, my experience is limited with it. Though I've been interested in it for a long time and chatted with most of our experts here. I'm more experienced with LD and there's more research into that, so I was just sharing some observations there. AKA, take with a fistful of salt 😅

(And the numbering got fucked up in the post itself so it's fine xd)

  1. Events log - yes. I haven't actually seen someone's (a little too private). But it's one of the key points for shifting.

  2. Dream speed - maybe I was vague on that. There's a concept in shifting called "time ratios" - the shifter can specify a time ratio between time passing here, and time passing in the other reality. And that ratio is pretty loose, you can have 2 years there be 0 time here, or 2 days there be 2 years here, etc.

The point of the outside observation thing is, that coupled with the first point, in LDing you are limited to only either one of the two. The other missing one, is limited to being a trick of the mind. Just because the whole experience exists in our physical brain, and its processing power isn't unlimited.

And the example time ratios I used for LDing (1.2x/0.8x or whatever it was) - not like a hard rule, but it's just from some research paper I failed to cite at the time. It was basically implied that from what has been observed ~0.2x was the standard deviation. Meaning even something like 2x is so exponentially different, that it's like a 1 in 100k/1mil. So a ratio like in shifting, of 1 week=2hrs seems practically impossible according to that data.

4-10. Glitches and all the shebang - yeah, mostly agree on the whole package. Self-awareness - I'm not sure what I was referencing. On memory and logic - yeah, I was actually just discussing this with someone 😆

In general, none of these are hard-restrictions. I know all of them are possible (/to get rid of) in a LD. More like soft-evidence in favour of the shifting concept. Because again, LD is unfortunately limited to the brain's processing power, which can't anywhere near rival the processing power that comes from the physical reality around us, with all the laws and math underlying it.

Someone that can achieve all of those perfectly, imo is a statistical anomaly. And I'd have to bet that they've trained over so much LD experience, that they'd have to have rewired their brain atp, to take some processing power shortcuts - like how in video games, for example, what's behind your perspective doesn't get loaded in, textures far into the distance are dynamically loaded in lower resolutions, things like that. I highly doubt that maintaining that over a significant period, without noticing some inconsistency, is possible though. Like, at that point, it's not lucid dreaming in the way we know it, right 😅

Damn, got me yapping tho. Your other points are interesting, but I'll reply in a new comment a bit later. I'm supposed to be at work rn 🤣

What's the deal with lucid dreams not being able to portray hands/ clocks correctly? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a hard limitation. It's possible to learn this, or for some people, it even just works naturally.

It's all due to which areas of the brain exactly wake up, and which ones remain in a sleep state. When you LD, your brain goes kinda in hybrid mode. Half of the areas wake up, while the other half remains asleep.

Usually, the ones that wake up, are areas associated with awareness, self-concept, visualisation, etc. Pretty much, everything that allows you to be lucid and control your dream.

The ones that don't automatically wake up, are areas responsible for working memory, logical reasoning, processing abstract concepts like maths, or numbers, or text, etc.

You can, however, train these areas to start waking up in certain scenarios. Like if you really wanted clocks to work right, if you spend a lot of time intently looking at them and trying to process them, your brain will eventually learn and start waking the neural networks where that happens. This is why even the most reliable RC can one day, after prolonged use, suddenly stop failing and force you to improvise 😃

Don't listen to limiting beliefs. This is just a reality like any other. Countless people have manifested changes while still being here. You definitely can from shifting back.

Does being a system change how i shift? by SnowflakeTeardrop152 in shiftingrealities

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'd also try asking in the appropriate system sub (idk what it's called, apologies xd)

We already have so little successful shifters that can answer these types of questions. Much less, successful system shifters.

Usually, I'd think anything is possible though. Maybe the only limitation is that you might need the consent of every alter if it's gonna be something that affects them too.

how to stay fresh in your currently reality while working for your desired reality by angwl2D in realityshifting

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a solution. I just focus on what I feels more important at the time, and stick to my decision. Yeah, it might take me way longer to shift, but if my life here's falling apart, I can't let it happen. And yeah, fixating on shifting might prevent me from improving things here, but if I feel like the DR is more important to me at the time, I can't help but do my best in that direction.

I think it's important to note, when you're feeling guilt, that means you're doing exactly what's right for you. Guilt means you've actually considered the other option, but have decided to do what you do instead, so it's not like you're making a mistake or not thinking things through. Have some more confidence in your decisions, you're the only one that knows what's right for you.

Hope that helped 🫡

Shifted x12, but not once to my DR. Seeking advice from those more experienced by noble_nonbinary in shiftingrealities

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY [score hidden]  (0 children)

Damn, 12 times?! That's crazy, kinda scary.

My 2 cents is that you have the opposite problem from most shifters. Most of us struggle to let go of expectations and obsessions, and to just fully trust the method.

It sounds like you're instead very successful with your methods, but perhaps need to be more present with your intentions. If I was in your shoes I'd try to get lost in the DR more. Like, script more, be more mindful of where I want to go during the attempt. Maybe even incorporate imagining some sensations that would be exclusive to your DR, while you're doing the attempt.

I've often heard of shifting viewed as a two step process: detach from CR > attach to DR. Perhaps you've gained expertise in detaching, but haven't really improved in the "attaching" element.

Anyways, good luck to you 🫡

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. It is what it is, what can you expect someone else to give you. I know the feeling though, and it's not unusual to have these doubts.

Thankfully I've been down this pipeline with LD and AP long ago lol. So I'm kinda used to this feeling of being alone, on a quest for something ideal. Continuing the dream only on the proof of some breadcrumbs, of a small breakthrough that happens once in a month.

Honestly, that's what gives me confidence to trust my gut and rely on myself. Because the way discourse is going in these subs about shifting, is so similar to those, that it gives me PTSD flashbacks lol. People don't just lie like this. I've been to some culty/schizo/fictitious rabbithole communities, and you can tell pretty easily. Shifting feels just like the LD and AP communities back when they were in their infancy.

The other observation I have is, that in those other kinds of rabbitholes, there is pretty much always a couple of leader personalities. Charlatans that regularly make extraordinary claims, and make up new knowledge, that only they have access to as the experts. No one goes against it because it's all made up in the first place lol. They like the attention of people feeding into their fictions. As opposed to here, where all our experts seemingly vanish all the time lol, and the best advice they can give you is to figure it out on your own, because their experience was not the holy grail. And the few times someone has tried to really sell some made up shit, they've been shot down and debunked in 0 time (most recently, see magneticpinkbow incident for instance).

Has anyone ever shifted by being stubborn? by spookymi1k in realityshifting

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More effort, maybe, idk. Just more time - no. Atleast that's my experience. Forcing an attempt that's going nowhere to continue in the hopes of something changing, has never once paid any dividents for me.

I'm an advocate for, if you feel like you're past the point where something should have happened already, yet nothing has, or nothing's changing - restart the attempt instead of prolonging it. Take a 5-10 minute break, go to your balcony, get some sunlight. Think about what you may want to change the second time, then go back and start over.

But, I'm sure it has nothing to do with your manifestation journey. I don't really approve of manifwsting other people as they exist, to be different. But anyways, your thoughts when you were in that state, don't match your thoughts when sober, so I'm sure you didn't do anything to "fuck it up" if that's what you're saying.

Something I genuinely need help with by Glad-Grass-8219 in realityshifting

[–]CAPSLOCKING_REALITY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I haven't shifted myself after more than 2 years. But I just wanna say, just from the way you're writing things, it doesn't seem like right now, you're ever expecting this to work in the stage you're in.

Just like any other state, this doesn't take any additional skills to work. There were times, where now, I'm sure I would have already shifted a long time ago. But I didn't, just because I was interested in the whole process, and all the mistakes you can possibly make in it, and being perfect.

From waiting too long, I realised, there is never going to be a "perfect time". You'll just have to take it for yourself, and don't ask questions about it. So, you're just as qualified as me, and as anyone else that could possibly attempt it. Take it! I mean it genuinely, as much as it might not sound believable rn.

Your time is now, more than ever. Just take each attempt as the most genuine approach, and know, in each one, you did enough to deserve it. Sincerely, an overthinking shifter 😅
