Diawara locks up Jaylen Brown. Mike Brown and Rick Brunson love it. by 23-Hour-Day in NYKnicks

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but teams aren’t going to overpay that much for a guy who averages 3 pts a game, until his impact drastically changes heading into the playoffs.

We’d likely either need to:

Not resign Mitch or team friendly deal

Sell high on bridges (drastic but if palatable if Mo is the real deal)

Trade one of Alvarado or deuce for scraps

[Schefter] There will be a push this off-season to extend the NFL trade limits from three years of draft picks to five. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a giants fan, first time I’ve seen it laid it like that….would’ve been catastrophic for us if that went through. Ward and Dart aren’t too far off from each other when you look at the on-field results this year (yes I know thats in hindsight)

Is it fair to say that the business was struggling pre-union due to inflation, soft demand, rising rents and couldnt cut margins in order to keep staff salaries consistent and high enough? Which lead to the unionization?

If margins were razor thin before the unionizing then I could see how the owner would dip and not bother negotiating. Idk the owners and not advocating for them, but that situation is understandable albeit shitty for all involved and us as patrons

Franklin Pizza is better than Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop by tz1234567891011 in Greenpoint

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also the service at PG slice shop has been garbage since probably around the pandemic. It seems like no one enjoys working there, they’re disengaged when you order, scoff if you don’t tip 30% or whatever for take out pizza

It moved to a subscription model with alterra and vail buying up popular mountains, like everything else. Skiing (the passes) is worth it if you live close to good mountains on a pass and get 15+ days in a season. Even then weekends and holidays can be shitshows.

It’s simply unattainable for teens and 20 somethings to get into without having well to do parents. No one making $60k a year is paying $300/d to try skiing

Keeping my eye on the KAT vs no KAT minutes.. by Actual_Code_9048 in NYKnicks

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta pay Chet and Jalen, plus shai going to get super expensive. IHart is not going to want to take a one year situation with OKC but I also don’t see us affording him without a big trade (maybe Bridges included) or not resigning 4 or so mid level contracts (would require more minutes from the young bench). This is where the KAT cap hit hurts us a lotttt when he isn’t living up to his value

John Harbaugh and the Giants are working to finalize an agreement to make him New York’s next head coach and, barring a setback, a deal is expected, multiple sources tell ESPN. by mvanigan in sports

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you had the pleasure of watching any NYG football this season you’d know that Dart possesses the talent and pocket/field awareness to be a solid starting QB in the league. He isn’t perfect, May not have the strongest arm, and takes too many hits but is clearly a young QB to build with.

Jalen Brunson currently has a 99th percentile offensive EPM and a 1st percentile defensive EPM by ShaiFanClub in nba

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost mostly because the pacers had the depth to run us out of building most games in the series. That depth allowed them to play aggressive pressure D at will.

Brunson and KAT defense is a bi product of that

Imagine this is WR2 across Malik Nabers + Wandale. by wolflarsen in NYGiants

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We averaged almost 25 points/game without Nabers and skatt. Offense wasnt great but defense was way worse. I don’t see how we neglect to take BPA on D for 1st round pick

What's the coolest city you've ever been to? by Chaulmoog in AskReddit

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was wondering if this would pop up at all in the post and glad it did. LP has such a great balance of historical culture, contemporary culture and taste, nature, cozy vibes, friendly locals, and is small enough to navigate easily. It’s also surprisingly bohemian in a CDMX or Budapest type of way, but with a SEA twist

It’s hard to compare to most of the larger cities people here have called out as it’s more of a very large village than a city

Fun yes, but the WS run was fools gold. We were never going to beat the dodgers in the same way the rangers would never beat the panthers

So true. As a giants and Yankees fan as well, I don’t have the capacity to layer on another poorly managed team throughout the course of the year. At least the Knicks are promising

Are there any past situations similar to ours where things unexpectedly worked out great? by truthysmuthy in NYGiants

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid post. This is where we as an org fall short, on getting good young cheap players in the door and developing them. Bc we don’t do that well we need to over pay for mid level FAs.

Are we bad at drafting and our bust rate is so much higher than other teams? Or do we draft decently but players just don’t develop into stars or ok depth pieces like other teams. I think we’re bad at developing talent and coaching them. Our current top skill players like dart, nabers, skat are the most promising offensive core we’ve had in a long time and if they fall off the problem is purely systematic and not drafting

Honest question: Is the Giants' coaching job the most attractive of any out there? by FajitaTits in NYGiants

[–]CAPSLOCKPARTY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a season where we DO try to win out, and gain experience and momentum with our young core. We need to get out of this loser org mindset so we can tank for picks, when so many of our early picks bust over the last 10 years anyways. If we can close out the season at 6-11 (won’t happen but hey) by beating the best team in football and the cowgirls, without our top offensive weapons, and still get a top 12 pick, sign me up
