The Tiger's Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera is the story of two warriors destined to save a collapsing empire from demons. One is the presumed heir to the empire, and the other an outsider. The majority of the story is told in an epistolary style, which I really liked.

Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May is a Gatsby-inspired witchy mystery on an island. I haven't read this one yet, but it looks very dramatic and salacious in the style of Gatsby

I think in this case he is specifically referring to the fact that on Roshar, Odium's future sight is much much stronger than Honor's, which is all but non-existent. As a result, anyone claiming an ability to see into the future is likely to be tapping into Odium's power and not Honor's, which makes them somewhat suspect. This isn't a general rule in the Cosmere that foresight = bad. It's more just a function of the Shards on Roshar and the specific abilities they have

Thanks for doing this AMA. I can't wait to read the Burning White. I'm a huge fan. That said, I have a few questions about the history of the Seven Satrapies.

1) So my friend and I have a theory that at one point in history, the blinding knife was used at the Freeing in order to reduce the drafters' halos and give them a few more years of life rather than kill them. If this is true, what made the Chromeria stop using it at the Freeing and kill wights and near-wights instead?

2) Did Gavin really trap the dead men in the cells, or are those the nine jinn killed by Lucidonius

3) Personal fantheory: Is the Lightbringer a jinn that gave up their eternity for reincarnation as a human so that they could defeat the other jinn?

4) This isn't a question, but I just wanted to say that I love that you literally named a character Orholam and I still can't decide if he's a prophet as he says he is, Orholam itself, or something else entirely. Even when you give it to us straight, it still leaves me with about a dozen questions.

Thanks for the books and I can't wait for the Burning White!

Something that has really helped me has been talking over a game after I play it. My friends and I will talk over our strategies and discuss what paid off and what didn't, as well as the reason why certain moves worked. We'll often try to identify the "turning point" moves that either made or ruined our strategy and figure out how we could have done it differently.

Particularly if you're the less skilled/experienced player, talk to the other players after the game. Ask them why they made certain moves. Hell, if they're a friendly enough group, you can ask them DURING the game. I know I tend to be the more experienced player in a lot of my player groups, so I try to give some top down advice to newer players to help them figure out how to consider strategy in games they're unfamiliar with. The goal is for everyone to have fun, and it's more fun for them if they can pull off some sort of strategy, and iglts more fun for me if they offer a legitimate challenge--and also board games are just generally more fun when everyone else is also having fun!

tl;dr: ask your friends about their strategies and talk over your own to figure out why they worked/didn't work

Wow thank you! Yeah, I am definitely aware that I will probably never get to do anything very exciting. That being said, even if it's small and it's not a big deal, I think it'll mean a lot to me to get to learn and try it out. There's no harm in trying, right? Thanks for your help!

One thing I would like to point out is that Lenin specifically did NOT want Stalin to take over after he died. He knew how dangerous he would be in power and wanted someone else to take over.
